The Alex Mauer Situation

I'd say something like, "wow, YouTube dropped the ball", but I think this whole situation shows that not only does YouTube not even have the ball, they don't have the slightest interest in picking up the ball.

^THIS^ Their copyright infringement system is a disaster. For one person to ever be able to do that much damage when they do not even own the rights to the content they are having pulled and the people they are harming is ridiculous. I am not even sure what would get them to actually resolve the issue at this point. They seem quite content on ignoring the problem. Maybe if a bunch of channels all teamed up and filed a class action suit? Can they even do that?

But when people are digging out her birth certificate, old photos of her and deadnaming her, it's clear that some are less interesting in fighting injustice than piling onto a trans woman. None of that crap is warranted or necesary or has anything to do with what Mauer was doing.

Not anymore. On Twitter, she's saying she's going to get a lawyer, because - get this - Leonard French left her old middle name on the official court docs.

If reports are to be believed, she already cutted ties with her family for the awful crime of pleading her to get help, so she's already going in that direction. I worry she's hurt herself or others if the situation escalates, but I don't pity her. Most of this situation was and continues to be out of her own making.

Funny thing is it's probably going to change anyway on the next amended complaint. It looks like the first amended complaint was processed at the same time as her accepted summons, which means it was probably written before she complained about it but processed after(because moving at the speed of courts).

my guess is second AC(with the middle name removed or shorted to T) and retraining order are going to be processed Wednesday or Friday.

Alex Mauer seems pretty detached from reality at this point, so assuming that rational thinking is driving her actions is probably a mistake. Based on comments she has made to SidAlpha and others, it appears she thinks she's in the right (morally and legally) and everyone is trying to foil her righteous agenda, and doesn't comprehend just how deep in the shit she has dug herself.

So Mauer rescinded her DMCA claims...only to promptly reinstate them singly rather than all at once. This is presumably an attempt to shut down as many naysayers as possible, as her previous method of blanket DMCA claims only counted as a single strike against a channel, whereas these single claims all count as individual strikes.
What a petty, vindictive thing to do. This is making your usual thin-skinned Steam asset flipper look like an upstanding person.
