Name: Jared Spencer
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Jared is a 6' 5", 37 year old male, green eyes, dark red hair. Thin and lean, although clearly posessed with great physical strength. Distinguished by a scar, apparently from a burn, extending from the corner of his left eye to the right corner of his mouth.
Emotional/Mental Disposition: Homicidal and suicidal mania, given over to bouts of rage so violent he can sometimes appear to be having a seizure or even childish fit. Severe paranoia colors his self-hating depression, believing everyone around him to believe terrible things he believes about himself. Despite the fact that, on paper, his disorder seems to have a dizzying aray of symptoms, he usually appears and acts perfectly sane. During his typical lucid days, he also displays strong mental faculties and a great deal of intelligence. Typically, the only clues to his mental illness are his criminal history and occasional breakdowns/explosions of rage. On a normal day, a visitor who has never met him would wonder what on earth is this man doing here.
Reason for committing: First degree murder, first degree corpse brutalization. Details below.
History: Jared lived a fairly normal childhood, living with his father and stepmother. He had few friends in school but rarely complained of loneliness, he typically preferred to be alone. His one biggest complaint as a youth was his lack of romantic companionship, most girls didn't dislike him, but didn't like him enough to date him. He enrolled in and was accepted into Yale University. He did well, but dropped out after a year because he found it boring and to be a waste of money.
Originally imprisoned for assault and battery at the age of 20, Jared was released early on good behavior slightly less than two years later. He did fine for a while, doing a good job of hiding his occasional breakdowns by being careful to only lose control when he was alone. Then, at the age 25, he was arrested, tried, and found guilty of the murder of his fiance, an incredibly beautiful woman of the age of 20. Police reports indicate that when he was arrested, he was covered front to back, head to foot in her blood, and was found bent over her corpse, scooping her blood into his hands and alternately rubbing it on himself and drinking it. Further reports indicate that throughout his stay in county jail and the trial process, he seemed completely sane, and, in fact, behaved in an incredibly respectful, gentlemanly fashion. He pleaded guilty to the charge, shaking his hung head as he said that he knew he had done wrong and wouldn't lie about it. He was sentenced to life spent in an insane asylum and was sent straight to Madam Geria's Home for the Clinically Insane and Unrurly.
Since being admitted to this facility, Jared has tried on multiple occasions to kill himself. No one knows how, but he found his way onto the roof and threw himself off. Seventy percent of his bones were broken. Every one healed completely. On another occasion, he was found vomiting so profusely that the force of it alone caused his throat to bleed. He had poisoned himself. Doctors told the facility's RN that less than a third the amount of chemical he consumed should have killed him within five minutes. Again, he made a full recovery. From accounts, both from himself and friends and family, he has made other attempts on his own life on multiple occasions before being admitted, and with each, shocked doctors by surviving. He lives today in perfect health.
Side Notes: The one thing Jared consistently refuses to talk about is anything regarding his scar. When he has emotional breakdowns, he screams for "Lenore," apparently a fictional woman. His primary Doctor believes that, in his mania, he associates his murdered fiance with the Lenore of the poetry of Edgar Alan Poe. Discussions with Jared support this theory. He thinks, quote: "When I go crazy, I link Emily with Lenore because, because of what I did, I shall know her beauty nevermore."
