Insomniac moved on to Ratchet and Clank, which is a bit of a double-edged sword...

It sucks to see Spyro having been handed off to a bunch of half-wits, but I suppose the same thing happened (on a smaller scale) to Crash Bandicoot.

Well, when Jak and Ratchet get handed the same treatment, the world will surely end.

The first 2 Spyro games were amazing, didn't play any of the ones after the third game because we never got a PS2. Just as well, considering, the games seem to have slipped.

Didn't pretty much the exact same thing happen with Crash?

I hated all the games after Spyro 3.
I miss the first 3 games terribly.
Agreed... I loved those games. Especially the first one, spent so much time getting all the orbs.
It's the second game that has the orbs :3

Ideally Insomniac will eventually buy back Spyro, and Naughty Dog will buy back Crash Bandicoot.
Whether they make a new sequel or not for me the first 3 games never get old ^^

I loved the first three, they are some of my first memories as a gmaer and will always have a special space on the games rack for me. The secound one, Rypto's Rage, was my favorite. The ones that came out for the PS2 were utter crap though, but that's my opinion.

I don't have any of the classics, but the premise alone was great and the design was colorful. It was just the execution that was awful. The one game I got was Enter The Dragonfly, a poorly executed game full of bugs, bad game play, and loading screens. Oh, the loading screens!

But I loved one thing, and that was the overall charm that is the Spyro world. It goes right up with Ratchet & Clank with games that are colorful and silly without being too childish.

Spyro used to be cool, Sonic too. What is it with some of my favourite video game series and their refusal to die long after they have been ground into bloody lumps?
Seriously some games need the old yeller treatment.
I mean I would prefer that they actually made one that was good for once but the track record is just not promising.

This has finally killed my faith in Hollywood...Why ruin such a beautiful thing when you know you will not be able to do it well...WHY DAMN IT!

I actually hated everything up until the Legend reboot. It was just... sad, honestly. Especially the third one, when Spyro wasn't the central character any more. Hell, you never even really saw any dragons after the first one... The Legend series was actually fun to play, had a story (period, there really was no plot to the older games), and actually had dragons. One of whom was Gary motherfucking Oldman.

For the record, Spyro was the first game I ever played, and the first series I actively followed.

As for the movie, I'm in two minds- on the one hand, it's about time. On the other... seriously, producers of Eragon? That's supposed to be a draw?!

Screw Spyro! I have money...

What about THIS guy?

HIS first 3 games were outstanding classics which are loved and still played today, and then Naughty Dog sold the rights...Now he's a cheap Wii shovelwear hack-n-slash

I seem to be in need of a tutorial to escape this life before my childhood is raped.

1st step: Load your gun
2nd step: Align it with your temple.
3rd step: Pull the trigger.

The Spyro trilogy set was the first game i got for my PS2 ... don't ask why >.>

I did love them and I did play two of it's ps2 counter parts, a couple of the gba ones (which weren't THAT bad) and finally the reboot series which ...well i'd rather forget it

I've skipped the other three or so games that have been released >.>

Pretty much what sonic has done to sonic fans is my situation with Spyro
though i did learn my lesson and stopped buying/renting them

I actually was thinking about Spyro recently (possibly due to going out to see How To Train Your Dragon this weekend) and I have the slight feeling of shame for never beating the first 2 that I have. Especially since I liked them and only didn't complete them due to a mass of games queued up.
