After Year of the Dragon, all other Spyro games were trash. I hated them all and actually burned one of them.

I think that Year of the Dragon was when Spyro was at the peak of his game character career. Of course the developers needed some way to make money, so they decided to make him go through puberty, the many mood swings of it.

Now for the movie, yes I will probably see this when it comes out. But it better be good. Or else all hope is lost.

R.I.P.
Spyro the Dragon.

Fact is, just about everything Naughty Dog owned (Crash and Spyro mainly)...
Fail.
OK, everything Naughty Dog origionaly worked on. My mistake.
Dude, Naughty Dog had nothing to do with Spyro...
They didn't? Huh. Guess my memory's getting faulty.
I just thought that, considering they were so intertwined, that they had the same developers... And they do. I just picked the wrong developers - They're both Traveler's Tales, aren't they? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Sorry for being an idiot.

Hooboy I'm having a nerdgastic laughfest at this one :p You are just playing with us... right?

Insomniac Games made Spyro, then moved onto Ratchet & Clank and Resistance.
Naughty Dog made Crash Bandicoot and moved onto Jak And Daxter and Uncharted.
The two developer's are very close friends and often include references to each other's games however and so I can sort of see why people would be confused...

...vaguely.

Look, there are only three Spyro games anyway.

Any games which may coincidentally feature a purple dragon but were not made by Insomniac and released on the PS1 are a figment of your diseased imagination.

I'll probably see the movies then go and buy some of the original Spyro games. I never owned any but finished the first 2 I think. Borrowed them from the local video store at the time.

Well, if it's made by the same people who made Eragon...I think I might go to throw popcorn at the screen.

Playing with you? No, I really did belive that these games were made by the same people... Fuck. Well, at least I won't mess this up again, when someone else comes up with an argument that Crash is screwed or something...
Actualy, now I see the games in order, doesn't it seem somewhat strange? Both developers made a game francice, based on a hero that wasn't a human that was pretty damn good but has since gone down the shitter, followed by another franchice involving a hero and a sidekick - both heros not really human but act pretty much like one, and both sidekicks deffinatly not human and act as such - That's still doing OK, followed by a "Next Gen" game with a one word "Here's the game summed up" Title that hasn't really seemed to go anywhere - At least from where I'm sitting.
It's like they're both the same people or something! Maybe they ARE the same people, or have some sort of underground link that makes them have the same ideas, or something like that... Who knows?

Meh, this is old news.

Lynch me if you would, I quite liked the new game series, even if the voice acting was bordering on suicidal. To me, at least.

And yes, I did play the originals - they are superior, but the newer games are playable. [small]Even if the mind does boggle regarding how Spyro can breath 'Earth power'. What does he do? Eat half of someone's garden and gob on a nearby enemy?[/small]

The film doesn't really interest me. But then films in general rarely do unless they have werewolves in. And even then...

I am sad panda now.

I pray this movie gets a crap reception, this movie does not deserve to be made.

At least we'll always have the initial trilogy.

The first 3 Spyro games were so great, I wish they could return to their former glory.

Spyro used to be cool, Sonic too. What is it with some of my favourite video game series and their refusal to die long after they have been ground into bloody lumps?
Seriously some games need the old yeller treatment.
I mean I would prefer that they actually made one that was good for once but the track record is just not promising.
But Sonic's a little different since it's still SEGA and Sonic Team.

Think of it this way, Insomniac and Spyro wanted to stop so they said their farewells. Then other companies kidnapped Spyro's family and said they'd kill them if he didn't do all this shit.

Sonic and his Team wanted the dream to live on forever and so they have become desperate old farts, constantly reminding you how good they were while squeezing out the stinkiest shit and forcing anyone polite or naive enough not to leave in hope that his next shit will be gold and perfumed, to stick their faces in it.

I used to play the first spyro for days at a time with my cousin.
personally i have no problem with them making a film, it will most likely be aimed at a younger audience who have never experienced 'dragon world' and has the potential to introduce a classic character into a new generation.
will i watch the film, if it comes out and people like it i will...

Sadly most adored franchises contract a deadly disease when transfering between generation consoles. They get the visual upgrade with an all new "improoved" look, usually donning the latest fad such as a side fringe and chains and a grumpy sarcastic voice that vomits poor wit to be amusing to the most retarded individuals.

Give the rights back to Insomniac, have them remake the original trilogy with exactly the same gameplay and better visuals.

I'd be fine with that, and I'd be willing to pay $60 for it too. Same goes for Crash Bandicoot 1-3 and Crash Team Racing (fuck Nitro Kart).
