Which character would you most like to see join the team in the next Avengers movie? Personaly I would love to see Doctor Strange. I know they have Thor but the team need a little more magic. Plus the Doc redefines the term baddass.

Daredevil!! I love that guy so much!
But I figure they need to make a movie for them before the next Avengers, I mean, if the average audience has no idea what the character is about, it wouldn't work very well.

Batman!

Just to mess with everyone. Fans would be so conflicted at hating the desecration of continuity, but loving the cross-over of their favourite character that there would be literal head explosions going on in cinemas all across the country

Assuming that the "No X-Men and no Spider-Man" thing is still in effect?

Probably Iron Fist or She-Hulk.

I beg to differ....

Neither me nor anyone I know had any clue who the fuck Hawkeye was yet we still enjoyed the film.

Also, Daredevil has a film ... just not a very good one.

I think they've covered all the important bases already. Adding new characters for novelty's sake would be a bad move. It requires more time spent on exposition and initial characterisation to get the audience familiar with them, which would be boring, distract people from the actual plot and suck time out of the movie. I mean, it was bad enough with the X-Men and Spiderman films rapidly adding more characters than they could handle. You don't need to do that in a movie that already has a huge ensemble cast.

The whole upside of a crossover-style superhero film like the Avengers is that it goes "You know who all these guys are, you've seen their films, we don't need to explain them to you. Now watch them punch things! Wheee! Punches!"

Anyway. If they were going to add anyone, they'd probably add Luke Cage. He can be easily tied into Captain America's background, and it's good to have more black guys on the team. Otherwise, the safest bet would be Hank and Janet Pym. Their backgrounds are easy enough to explain (Pym particles make you big/small) and their characters can easily be summarised as "disintegrating married couple," which is a nice, short arc to fit into an ensemble movie.

They did it already. It was surprisingly faithful to the characters' attitudes, Batman especially. He...doesn't come off well.

I don't think he'd work out as an Avenger.

OT: I'll throw in a vote for Ms. Marvel purely because I want to see more boobs them handle a 1970's feminist in the 21st century.

Seriously? I think the Wasp is a contender. She's VERY popular.

Both of these are on the extreme end of unlikely but I think Spider-Man or Ghost Rider would be pretty cool.

I want to see She-Hulk, especially with Whedon's character writing.

Tigra.
Because there is virtually no film that cannot be improved by the addition of a bikini-clad catgirl.

I'd like Black Panther, Luke Cage, Wasp, She-Hulk, Namor or Ant-man with Carol Danvers (Ms/Captain Marvel's secret identity) appearing as a new agent of SHIELD.

Ant-Man however is starting off Phase 3, so he won't be in Avengers 2.

Wasp really needs Ant-Man to explain her presence (since her powers in 616 come from his Pym Particles).

Black Panther... Hollywood doesn't have the guts to present him as he should be.

Luke Cage is a possibility but unlikely as it would be viewed as making someone the "stereotypical black guy."

Namor ain't going to happen as much as I want to. He needs to be tied to Captain America's back story and the movies aren't exploring WW2 more than it already did.

She-Hulk could be set up during the SHIELD show or the rumored Hulk show, but I doubt it will be before Phase 3 before we see her. However actress Angie Hammond has apparently petitioned Marvel for the role. So who knows.

Carol/Ms Marvel I see happening if the SHIELD show takes off because they could set her up strong in that this year and add her as a sudden reveal in the movie.

Hank Pym...I know we already have two super scientists but neither of them is a mad scientist. Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Yellowjacket, I don't care which but we need Hank and Janet.

Of course an appearance by Isaiah Bradley would be cool, but they need tp save that for a Cap film.

Maybe Vision as my third choice?

Nova. With the ongoing threat of alien invasion, he would be another "Big Gun" to add to their roster of heavy hitters. He could be introduced in much the same way he was in the recent Phoenix story arc - tumbling through the atmosphere, then after he hits, stay awake just long enough to say "He's coming".

We need more female characters at the moment it's just a huge sausage fest, which not only excludes the female audience put also prevents more interesting dynamics!

Therefore i vote for:
1-Wasp
2-Ms Marvel
3-she hulk

Already incoming:
- Wasp (she's supposedly in Iron Man 3)
- Ant-Man - getting a movie in 2015
- Doctor Strange - getting a movie in 2015...but isn't actually an Avenger.

Core Avengers that need to be added:
- Black Panther - movie being planned
- Scarlet Witch - iffy status of being both an Avenger and an X-Men character
- Quicksilver - as with his twin sister, iffy status of being both an Avenger and an X-Men character
- The Vision - no known plans for Vision. His creation relies on Hank Pym and Ultron, so perhaps he will be a result of the Ant-Man movie.
