People need a sense of humor about Pimpeteer's trick, it's been around in one form or another since the BBS days. One use for it used to be to try and pretend you were posting someone's docs since it would show them what they wrote in their account profile (if they were honest with the board Admin).
That said any clique is usually obnoxious if your not a member, or part of an equally big group. As nerds they probably find us just as obnoxious in our own way if we bother to really care.
In general kids and young adults are going to do the same basic thing, even if the styles change. It's gone on since the dawn of time, even in ancient days you had "rakes".
That said it only bugs me when it's drawn along racial lines (one way or another).
Not being from the UK I am not familiar with "Chavs" but it sounds an awful lot like our "Gangstas" "gangsta poseurs" and white people who try and emulate them. They get mentione frequently, but as I said I haven't had any direct encounters.
As far as making more money than your typical hoodlums though, you might be surprised. I say this because when people get deperate for booze or drugs they will go to some incredible lengths to get money, and will spend it at hyperspeed. Typically people talk about junkies and hoods being busted, but tend to forget that typically these guys will get away with such things routinely for quite a while before they are caught/mess up, which sometimes is simply them getting cocky. Some dude who is putting away a $20 bottle and $50 worth of crack a day is basically making $2100.00+ a month one way or another. You get guys in rehab or prison who have lived like that for years and well... being a totally sociopathic and reprehensible person can net you some decent cash, the thing is that most people don't turn out that way until they get desperate or REALLY messed up. It's also a timer because no matter how well you do, eventually you are always going to mess up. Some of these people's arrogance is based sort of on this, sure they are constantly penniless, but they realize a lot of money goes through their hands, and what's more a lot of them tend to think anything that is YOURs is going to be THEIRs if they really want it.
