Is it just me or have we had a real influx of forum games in the off-topic section, repeat threads, and one-sentence OPs since the new code of conduct came into action?

I would have loved it if the old forum rules were put up next to the code of conduct (marked as old, of course) so that new users would get to see more specific examples of what kind of threads we do (did) not like and such. As it is now, it feels like the standards of the forum are sinking :/

That may be. The new rules are much too vague (something that will be changed soon)
Ohh, I did not know that. Interesting.
If you spot such a thread, PM a moderator or report it & it'll; get taken care of. <3
Will do.

To be honest, I wasn't actually expecting a response to this. I just felt like whining a little :p

As someone who hates stupid poll options, I have to say, your poll is the most evil thing I have seen in this forum.

No the site doesn't do that. If you get spam, it is most likely only the weekly Magazine Update that will appear in the spam folder for some reason. Any other spam you could report to the staff if you get it because you shouldn't get any.

Nope and the webstaff is the same one here as at like newsmax -- Entertainment Consumer Association...

I signed up for the ECA... Then i was repteadly attack and insulted by the webstaff and when i question them they ban-hammered...

No, they are basically spam -- They harass countless of people and really treat people they dislike in anyway they please. Because this site is owned by them. They do not work for this site... This site is not undercontract with any other organization, or high brand name.

That is why they get labled as spam -- They have a high profile online and many report these site as phishing -- This site also has a high complaints of people losing passwords to facebook and numerous other sites. That is why they are in spam...

The webstaff of many alias' know who i am... from only online though -- Ive gotten them banned countable times at Xbox network and PS3 network for distrupting or harassing users.

What? I'm not sure if you are talking about the ECA or The Escapist...or what you may be referring to. If you have a problem, please feel free to use our appeal system: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/contact/

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, but after I had first submitted it, it didn't show up. Even after refreshing. Don't know why. But, since this post is here and I thought of another question, I guess I'll use it. If I provoke mod wrath, will I be notified? Or could they delete my post, lock my thread, etc. without me knowing?

If you get provoke Mod Wrath, you'll be notified, yes.

It pretty much outlines what post got you the Mod Wrath, as well as why it was deemed a post worthy of wrath. It also includes a link to a contact form, from which you can appeal and try and get your wrath over-turned, I believe. But as for locking/sinking of threads and deleting of posts, I'm not too sure. I've heard you're supposed to be sent one for a locked thread, but people have complained about not being told why their thread was locked/sunk so I don't think so.

And as for your first question about a list of users, no list like that exists, I believe.

So, is there a list of banned and probated users on the forum? The posts are usually pretty funny.
I know. Back when I was a more prominent user that was my pasttime. Said hobby is actually where I drew a lot of the information for this thread from.

That said, I'm pretty sure The Escapist does not condone nor support the act of 'naming and shaming' so I'm pretty sure you're out of luck.

I'd love to see a 'best of the banhammer' thread though. One of my favourites was when Wilson, a mod who may or may not still be around, banned himself just to see what happened.

I must say these rules are very well built and presented, other forums didn't have such 'strict' rules and usually the mods are not even there; Wich is why im glad i finally decided to join The Escapist.
Hopefully this'll be a nice 'experience' and i sure hope to be able to contribute to this awesome place.
Edit: Also i'm not sure if this is the place, but is my avatar in some way considered offensive?
I mean, there is somewhat a little nudity, and maybe i should change it to something more friendly and appropiate?

Considering several people get away with avatars of bouncing boobs (not bared, of course), I think you're fine. Just nothing pornographic.

Anyone else find it amusing that the first commenter after the rules has been banned now? Just an interesting observation. :L

forum rules look about the same as any other. though a bit more interesting to read when discussing trolls. so I voted no because there wasnt anything realy new. though avatar max size and format wouldve been nice to see there.

*edit
avatar is 75x75 pixels.
