Yeah, it does. Even a one day probation ruins it, sorry to say. :/XxRyanxX said:.. Um, I got put on probation for a day (my first time ever) so does that ruin my chances to earn the Real Ultimate Poster Badge..? Was just wondering.. and if so.. .then, I am really sorry..
From what I hear, you'll never get the Neo. That's the way the cookie crumbles.XxRyanxX said:.. Um, I got put on probation for a day (my first time ever) so does that ruin my chances to earn the Real Ultimate Poster Badge..? Was just wondering.. and if so.. .then, I am really sorry..
For starters, you cant say any racial slur. Any prejudice word describing a religion, country of origin, or sexuality is also out of the question.Icaruss said:Can't you just print up a list of words i can't say?
Yes, anything more than a warning will lose you the badge. However, if you express good behaviour over a long period of time you can make an appeal.XxRyanxX said:.. I don't think you can check, unless you PM a Mod and ask.bdcjacko said:How can a moron like myself (only calling myself a moron) check to see how close to banhammer they are? Also is there a permanent wrath record or do things disappear after a stretch of good behavior?
Gosh dernit. That is the exact kind of thing I would do because that is just who I am, but I like posting here. Shit crap...I'm going to have to mind my peas and queues.Sassafrass said:I don't think you can check, unless you PM a Mod and ask.bdcjacko said:How can a moron like myself (only calling myself a moron) check to see how close to banhammer they are? And it is a permanent record as far as I'm aware of. I've seen some older users banned on tame posts[footnote]Calling someone a dick, stuff like that.[/footnote] with a Mod note saying something along the lines of "This user was banned for repeat offences, this was the final straw." or some such. So I'm assuming it's a permanent record.
Back when I was a mod, I did actually ask Spin for a way to allow users to see their current records (date, type, length, post, everything a mod can see apart from who gave it out). EDIT: I also meant for it to be a private thing for only the user to see, like the message inbox. It is down on record as far as I know as a possibility, but I don't know if it will ever be implemented or not. I hope so, as I amongst other users have had issues in the past about whether or not certain punishments were on record.bdcjacko said:How can a moron like myself (only calling myself a moron) check to see how close to banhammer they are? Can you guys remove me from the lists of mods in both this thread and Clay's guide [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.202272-The-Escapist-Community-and-Forums-Codex-Index-Guides]? Thanks.Claymorez said:Snip from different thread so I don't have to ask there as well.
Because there is no way they could have watched a 5 minute cartoon in 1 minutes and where just "firsting"koeniginator said:Can someone explain this [http://gyazo.com/7fdfc4005d1987e4a5fb841ae3182c40.png] to me?
Why were they put on probation for those posts?
They weren't claiming to have watched it already or made any indication they were "firsting," and the 2nd user who posted it three minutes after couldn't have finished watching either, yet he wasn't put on probation.bdcjacko said:Because there is no way they could have watched a 5 minute cartoon in 1 minutes and where just "firsting"koeniginator said:Can someone explain this [http://gyazo.com/7fdfc4005d1987e4a5fb841ae3182c40.png] to me?

I don't know just guessing. Quick little rule of thumb, don't post with in a minute of a video or article going up in the related thread.koeniginator said:They weren't claiming to have watched it already or made any indication they were "firsting," and the 2nd user who posted it three minutes after couldn't have finished watching either, yet he wasn't put on probation.bdcjacko said:Because there is no way they could have watched a 5 minute cartoon in 1 minutes and where just "firsting"koeniginator said:Can someone explain this [http://gyazo.com/7fdfc4005d1987e4a5fb841ae3182c40.png] to me?

bdcjacko was essentially spot on with the basic principle those punishments follow: Watch before posting. It isn't quite the same as saying "First!" -- which actually gets accounts suspended -- but it often follows similar intentions whilst trying to avoid punishment. A typical incident is where someone says 'Nice one Yahtzee' one minute after a five minute video was put up (I know that didn't happpen this time but it often does); They won't have watched the video and thus are posting a generic, vague response to try and avoid punishment whilst still appearing first in the comments.koeniginator said:If someone else can give a better explanation I'd appreciate for then to do so.
