We all have been wrong by someone at one point but have you ever been dishonored and unable to strike back. For instance, I am a cashier which basically means I have to stand in one spot taking shit from people all day. One day, a customer came in and started making crude remarks about my weight. I know I am not the skinniest person and I have taken many jokes about my weight without getting mad but this lady was relentless in making fun of my weight. I had a million comebacks in my head to counter but due to the fact that I needed the job I stood there and took it. The old ***** and equally ancient friend finally left and I couldn't have been madder. So who your bastard and why did they get away? How would you get them back?

EDIT: Sorry, I accidentally pressed enter before I actually posted anything. Please forgive me.

I never have that problem, because I always get around any issues stopping me and I strike back, for example once this kid was making fun of the fact I sing aloud while walking, he had loads of his ratty friends with him so I couldn't do anything. So I waited a week, watched him and then went and keyed his scooter with the phrase "sing maggot". I felt happier that'll teach him to be more polite so in effect I did a good deed.

I know exactly what you mean, as I used to be in just the same position. But when people like that came up to me, I asked them quite calmly why they thought what they thought, and had a discussion with them about it. Most of the time they apologized, or just plain shut their mouth embarrassed. I don't think there are many people that have gotten away with insulting me without me doing anything.

One of my teachers. She was such a *****, and she hated me from the beginning.
Five years I had to take shit from her. I often imagine me verbally abusing her out of town but it'll never happen.

Just for the record, even the lowliest ***** cashier job in the world has a certain expectation of fair treatment. If someone is speaking to you in a way that can only be described as "Unmasked Scorn", it is acceptable to say, "I'm sorry ma'am, but you won't speak to me that way. Please stand over there and I'll call the supervisor over to wait on you," or something of the kind.

That said, if you're oversensitive and need to learn to grow a thicker skin, doing something like that repeatedly will burn you in the end.

For mine, I can recall standing outside a store with a friend of mine years ago, back when I still smoked. We were with her daughter, who was about four at the time. An older couple (probably in their fifties) walked by and saw us smoking (not right in the kid's face, just a few feet away). The husband said, loudly, "Oh look, that little boy (note: he was here talking about Jen's daughter, who had a ponytail and was wearing a dress) is gonna grow up with crackheads and drug dealers."

I was so stunned by the whole thing that I really had no idea how to respond. He followed up with "Take that, faggots!" and then his wife bustled him into the department store.

Obviously, I didn't bother to chase him down or anything, so I suppose you could say he "got away". I've always wondered if he had tourettes or something. To this day, Jen holds up that moment as the one and only time she's seen me at a loss for words.

I would have refused to serve the women. I work on trolleys and a cigarette kiosk so i get a lot of crap too.

Sure you may feel as though your job is at risk by taking a stand, but you have rights. First as a human and secondly as an employee, i would have kindly told het to stop or not allow sale and wait for her to get a manager to sort it out.

As for the topic, iv had many that got away. Currently im hunting down a complete twat that tried to mow me down when i was outside in a car park with a grin on his face. If i see the fucker i will actually dropkick him through his windscreen or beat him to death with his own leg.

I know its not a response you expected, but cashier is not a good job for someone with a weight problem. I'd switch to construction or even street sweeping if it's a part-time job.
I am currently looking for another job but until I can find someone that will hire me. I am stuck in my current position.

I endure everything without fighting back. I'm too dumb and wussy to fight for myself...
Even now I endure snarky comments without twitching an eyelid. But I am thinking of exploding at my new "friends" for how much they've annoyed the crap out of me. Something along the lines of screaming "GO TO HELL YOU FILTHY BASTARDS!" at the top of my lungs. It would probably ruin my good record with the teachers but man it would be fun...

Hey, that thought cheered me up a bit...

I also work as a cashier, for future reference.

I usually do have a lot of patience, but don't fuck with me when I'm working. Really, it's a shitty job, the pay is lousy and I don't enjoy working in the first place, so I tend to get annoyed very fast when working.
I found a way of getting back at them though. I 'accidentally' make you pay extra by adding extra products, or some other way. Most of the time, they don't notice. If they do though, I politely ask them to wait while I focus on the row of customers behind him/her. It can take up to ten minutes before they get their money back.

So yeah, fuck with me while I'm working and you're going to pay. Literally.

All in all i'm a very loving ( and lovable ) person, i tend to forgive and forget easily.

I can take a joke mostly due to the fact that I can say something back equally if not more scathing than what was said to me. For instance, here is what I would have said," I may be fat but you madam are old and I can always lose weight." That comment was in my head at the time like a rushing reservoir of water at a dam about to burst but I held back and to this day I wish I let that comment be heard.

So. while we wait..anyone seen any mudcrabs recently?
Why yes, I fought one more fearsome than you recently.

On topic, if anyone insults me (seriously), I'll either:

1. Give them a look of resentment, nothing more (if I'm serving a customer etc.)
2. Call them a twat and punch them.
3. Laugh at them with a mixture of pity and scorn.
4. Do nothing (my boss etc.)

I have mad curly hair and I get loads of comments as I walk past people in school or in the streets. I don't do anything about it though because I choose to have my hair like this and it is a stanmp of my individuality.

"GET OUT OF MY POOL"

Yah... favorite phrase to someone being a dick to me or any of my staff... So far, no matter how many times they say "Well I am going to call your supervisor" (I am currently the manager of the pool in my town) or "the mayor is my neighbour's, friends, husband" (not a super small city, but small enough) I am still waiting to get in trouble for what I say and do at work..

Something tells me I am going to be waiting a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg time for that... LOL!
