Clutch at Sydney soundwave 2010
Meshuggah at Sydney soundwave 2010.

Holy shit. front and center for both. The energy is amazing.

Clutch had an awesome feel and great stage presence, and you didnt end up dieing in a mosh.

Meshuggah was just pure insanity. they really are great musicians.

If you think you like a band, even remotely. Go see them live. the energy is amazing

Definitely The Mars Volta. Their lead is one crazy bastard.
Mars Volta were the best (It was in an open topped courtyard in london whilst the sun was setting)

Closely followed by Muse at Wembley
We should be friends. I saw Muse at the same music festival, and I'm seeing them again at their concert in Brisbane later this year. Muse are actually my favourite band.

And if by Muse at Wembley, you mean this concert:

I am completely envious of you.
Muse at Wembley is my favourite gig, I was really close to the front aswell. I could't quite believe it was three years ago when I saw the date on that video!

Argh, too many gigs to pick from.

I guess Tool, Mastodon, Pendulum and Dream Theater would be just a few highlights, although I hate picking favourites.

As for festivals, Graspop Metal Meeting last year was immense.

Oh, and KMFDM were great when I saw them two nights ago.

Also, I'd just like to say to everyone who has seen Nine Inch Nails: I am very jealous.

Seeing AC/DC live was one of the best nights of my life.

OP, you're a man after my own heart.

Only band I've ever heard live was about three people from my school.
The Parallax. Yeah... They were actually pretty good.
Couldn't beat hearing Rick Astley from my garden though.

How about no?

Probably Rammstein, they put no one hell of a show, and it's awesome how the Audience know the words, although they weren't German in my case (I knew them too). Amon Amarth (in their home country) was pretty wicked as well. Ah, moshpits.

Also, I was going to see Muse. But the fuckers canceled their only gig in Sweden this year, and although they refunded the ticket, I was still stuck with paying for the goddamn train, when I won't even be going anywhere.

Porcupine Tree. They played the whole Incident album nonstop in the first half, then they played some of my favorite songs... All in a small venue so we were very close to the stage.
This, except it was in a large (though not huge) ice hall.

It was the first time I saw them live, and it was mind blowing. Their music is great and the players are all at least good, though not amazing technically (except Gavin, who is awesome). The only drawback for me was that they didn't play Blackest Eyes.

I have also seen Dream Theater live, but it was on their Chaos in Motion tour (which supported one of their worst albums) and Portnoy is getting worse and worse on drums.

Without a doubt In Flames. The energy they have on stage is great. And they manage to get an awesome live sound. And I always get so excited when they play this song:
(and of course, their sense of fashion is always top-notch)

NIN when touring for Downward Spiral. Saw them at the SPAC in Saratoga way back when. Dancing on the floor next to a guy in a full nun's habit on one side and a guy with business suit & briefcase American Psycho style on the other. Awesome music and experience!

I saw Depeche Mode live at the O2 arena in London February this year and they were fantastic. Dave Gahan was brilliant considering the original date for the concert was canceled due to him being seriously ill. Also it has to be said that the majority of DM fans appear to be lovely people. =]

Dropkick Murphys. every one of the 3 times I have seen them I have been on stage at the end (they have a stage rush for people near the front)

The Music Managed to set the fire alarm off and had to restart once we were clear.

U2 with The Killers was an amazing stadium experience (as was REM) and RHCP in Hyde Park with the man himself James Brown just for the whole experience was mindblowing.
