Ya know, for me, Singularity was a really fun game. Short and easy even on the hardest mode, but I had to keep playing, and the ending had me at a loss

Having to make a decision on how the ending works and how the game came together, plus, seeing the girl swimming means there could be a sequel, which excites me

The ending of both Mass Effect games. They feel even more epic and heroic if you've just finished the game on insanity.
Is there a little bit of subtle boasting there? Haha, I kid. I think Mass Effect 1 on insanity is harder then 2 but hey, that's just my opinion.

OT: The Red Dead: Redemption ending is awesome, but I personally think the ending/s (there's 4) for Silent Hill: Homecoming are the best. I love that game, I never expected the twist near the end.

I know a lot of people won't agree with me on that one though.

Resistance, Ratchet and Clank Futures: A Crack in Time, 4 of the endings of Silent Hill 2, all of the Prince of Persia: SOT trilogy, and No More Heroes.

If there had been no sequel, the ending to Gears of War would've been kind of awesome. Now that there is one, it's just a teaser.
Yea, just the ending to the original was good, but the sequel kind of ruined it completely.

Not the games, just the ending to the first one.
Then don't play them. Oh, and visit one of the many hate threads that can be found on this site, rather than posting random hate comments in a thread about endings we enjoyed.

I mean, nobody pointed out the fact that your favorite game ending wasn't technically an "ending", or a "game".

I loved the ending to Mother 3... I won't get into the final battle, as it is too hard to explain properly.... but, here goes!
Basically, you pull the last needle, expecting... well, something good to happen, cause Lucas has a good heart, right? Well... the rest of the world kinda gets destroyed anyway, the final screen being black with a simple END? in white... but, you can walk around as the END? and talk to most everyone you've met... somehow all fine... everyone says goodbye to YOU, the player... saying come visit again... and then it shows the logo again. Originally looking like this;
but, this time... the logo is all wooden, and the O is the Earth, as it is in Mother 1 and 2.... so, the original world has been reborn! I love it!

It's not spectacular, but one of the most convincing and endearing endings I've seen in a game:

Metro 2033 (looking at the 'good' ending here)
All has been said and done. There is no heroic speech from our unlikely protagonist, no victory strut, no celebration. Artyom just... sits down. I could almost feel how the strength went out of his knees as the exhaustion finally took its toll---and that simple gesture made him one of the most human characters in a game that I had ever seen.

You hearing that, BioWare? :(

I liked a lot of endings, the first ones that come to my mind listed here:

Metro 2033
Mass Effect1+2
Bioshock
Braid (if only because it can be taken in so many ways)
Alan Wake
Lost Odyessy

God Of War III. That ending never loses it's punch. And the fact that Kratos's last act was one you do yourself, just, yeah. It also walked directly on the fine line between 'sequel: yes-no' just like Halo 3 did.

Batman Arkham Asylum was pretty cool. I breathed a sigh of relief when Batman finally got off that damn island.

Limbo:
I know it was some artsy crap that's left open to interpretation and all that, but after having a mediocre experience with some of the puzzles, I felt the ending made all the finicky puzzles that were only beatable if you did the exact thing the developers wanted okay. After searching for your sister throughout the whole game, and doing some pretty bad things to other people, the end seemed to show what you did was for a good reason and everything would be alright. I originally thought it was just going to be the beginning and the game would all be about how you should just accept loss and trying to hold on to people who have pasted on is pointless, but then, you come upon your sister sitting next to a ladder. As you approach, she sits up, and bam. Ending. I also thought the progression from forest, to industrial area, to run down industrial area, to forest again.

Ico. I'd go into detail about the ending, but I think it's safe to say that nobody knows what really happened at the ending. All I know is it was tragic, vague, brilliant, and in it's own way beautiful.

This wasn't left open to interpretation, this was like giving the player a blank piece of paper, saying nothing, and sitting back and watching as the picture confuses and amazes the player.

The theorizations that it is in someway linked to Shadow of the Colossus (another game with an ace ending) just makes me appreciate it all the more.

Honestly I've run out of ways to shower both those games with praise

Prince of Persia 2008. Awesome ending (ignoring the DLC), and since it appears they're not gunna make a sequel, it actually makes it better, imo.

The Okami ending never fails to get to me. I must have blubbered all the way through the final boss fight. A great ending to a perfect game.

Now, for the obvious choices: Mass Effect (2), Red Dead Redemption and some other games, I'm sure.

Mass Effect

After i left the council to die, and they showed my cocking the gun, infront of a red dying planet, showing how evil i have become throughout the game, it made me proud of my character
