The Best Ending to a Video game SPOILERS

Ya know, for me, Singularity was a really fun game. Short and easy even on the hardest mode, but I had to keep playing, and the ending had me at a loss

Oh, totally this. And if it isn't the best ending it's certainly the most confusing. If you really try to piece together exactly what happened on Katorga-12 your mind will explode. There are a lot of things left unexplained, but

you know the writing on the wall from your past self? Some of them have tallies going into the twenties. It's not explicitly explained, but I inferred that Renko had been going back in time to stop either Demichev and eventually himself for a very long time.

By far, Snake Eater.

You learn that The Boss, Snake's mentor, greatest friend, and the person he just shot in the head (which the player was forced to do in mid-cutscene, not as a QTE0, was not a traitor, as Snake's leaders claimed her to be. In fact, she died to prevent a nuclear incident, and Snake was awarded for killing her, while she is remembered as a traitor. It ends with Snake crying and saluting her grave.

And that's just one of the plots wrapped up in the endings. That still leaves EVA and Adamska to reveal even more.

This, and also the ending to the sequel, guns of the patriots to a lesser extent.

Half life 2 and Alan Wake just as an off hand thought.

I perfer an ending that makes me go "wat?".

I want some depth and something to discuss. I had very long conversations with my girlfriend and several work friends about the ending of Alan Wake and what it all ment.

Also any game or movie with a "happy" ending just doesnt sit well well with me.

All 3 of my fortreses ground to a slow halt due to to many dwarves and cats (and before my plan to cave in the entire map could be finnished), have they solved this problem in the most recent one as i think i might start a new fortress if they have

Mass Effect 2 from the beginning of the last mission.

Bad Company, the first. I loved that ending, but not the sequel hook part after it.

The winner is: Red Dead Redemption. It's going to be looking for something that can beat it for a long time. Excellent ending.

And the music in the original Deus Ex's endings was pretty awesome. I don't really need to pick one out of the few that exist - I like them all.

Also, KotOR had a pretty good ending, both the light and dark side ones. Both felt wrapped up and ended well. KotOR II, as we all know, was a little meh, but I have to say the Restored Content Mod goes a long way to making it much better.

Also, Planescape: Torment. Even the "good" ending will make the manly (or not so manly) tears flow. We salute you, Nameless One.

Just go buy a copy in a store and add the key to Steam if it is that big of a deal... They ran out of keys and aren't getting more on Steam...

First off, I'd have to say the ending to both Mass Effect gam...

The ending of both Mass Effect games. They feel even more epic and heroic if you've just finished the game on insanity.

But yeah, it really just makes you feel all heroic and completely badass.

Also, just for fun, the evil ending in Knights of the Old Republic 1. It was AWESOME. The way it just shows the entire sith fleet, I mean, YOUR fleet, ready to usher in doom and destruction to any in your path... It was awesome.

Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, because it was really heart-wrenching. I had to sit there for about 30 minutes afterward just telling myself "it's only a game" about a thousand times. No I'm not a sissy, you'd be a mess too. I mean, you knew it was going to happen, but you just couldn't be prepared...

Halo 3, because it WAS awesome, don't deny it. I need no explanation.

Heh, how cute, a console shooter.

Pretty much the entire Half-Life Series (minus the xpacs on the first one, and Episode One of course)

Portal is redundant - the ending was good, but so was the rest of the game. So really, if the ending wasn't great, that would've been the surprise.

Mafia was pretty good too, even if watching Mafia movies made it predictable - definitely interested in checking out Mafia II.

I also thought both Max Payne games had pretty cool endings.
