Cloverfield. That movie is at its' best on the first viewing and in the theaters. No other way of seeing it can compare. I was literally on the edge of my seat throughout the movie and I can chalk it up as my favorite movie viewing experience yet. A close second was District 9.
Dude you are awesome! Don't think I've ever heard of a person with those two movies on top of their "best of" list besides me!

Both awesome films. :D At the end of District 9 I started crying on my boyfriend and asked him not to turn into an alien.

I wanted to see Alice in wonderland in IMAX, but when I rang to book tickets, all but 2 were sold out...
I saw it in 3D in Odeon instead, it was pretty good thoug. Nothing compared to the Spykids 3D though :p
Oh, and one of those uhm... I don't know what they're called. I went to one in Spain, it's like a cinema, but the seats move with the movie, and it's a first person perspective so it feels like you're part of it. That was amazing even though it was a movie about clowns...

Oh man, all these District 9 and Cloverfield comments... I've seen half of D9, that was fucking EPIC, and I've seen Cloverfield on a tinny airplane screen, that was also epic... I'm missing out :(

OT, Avatar in 3D. I've only seen about 4 movies in theatres, so yeah.

Well, in highschool, went to see Superman with my GF...my GF dropped the bucket of popcorn and went looking for it and, well, lets say she got another kind of salty snack instead. I don't remember watching much of the movie after that.

Me and my girl went to see Knowing, she fell asleep with her head on my shoulder. Don't know why that stands out over all the other films, I guess because it was quite adorable.

Probably Zombieland. See, up to that point, most of the movies I'd seen were with friends or family out in the suburbs, so the crowds were small and sedate. Oftentimes, we'd be the only ones in the theater, which is usually quite nice.

Zombieland I saw in a crowded theater full of (fairly well behaved) college kids. Not only was the movie excellent, the company was perfect for it--it was like a stadium of people all on the same wavelength, laughing and gagging and falling dead quiet at all the same moments. It was lovely.

Not really anything comparrable to some of these but when Star Wars 3 came out they let us into the theatre because it was air condiontioned so a bunch of the cosplayers had a mock massive light saber duel. About 20 people going at it and people seeing who died and pulling them out and keeping score. It ended being an epic duel between darth vader and darth maul(vader one because he punched maul in the face)

Avatar was amazing though. I've never almost fallen out of my seat. Anyone else know that those AMP suits the marines wear in the fluff is made by Mitsubishi?

Whoops. Can't post that movie.

Paranormal Activity is another example of a film that was way better in the theater than at home. I still like Cloverfield on DVD, but nothing compares to the 4 times I saw it in theaters.

I can't remember, to be honest. There is always something that ruins it for me (usually someone in the dipshit audience), but I can't stay away from the big screen. I had a pretty good time for Inception, but that was more due to my company than the experience, although the movie was INCREDIBLE.

Went to see Watchmen with my girlfriend two weeks after it opened. We were the only people in the theatre.
I was expecting a remark like this, but I'm surprised it came in as late as 6 :p
