The longest journey.

Unless my memory fails me, no violence anywhere in that game.
The Longest Journey has a pretty mature plot; A couple characters die, a few of which are shot, one of which is burned alive, a kingdom is plunged into warfare and 'legal slavery' is the norm, not to mention the M rated dialogue with one particular character.

But it's true that the main character, and by extension the player, don't actually 'do' anything strictly violent except perhaps defend yourself in one case. But that was against a monster, so it's alright!

Ugh, took until the second page but finally got beat to the TetrAwesome. *sigh*

I would say Dance Dance Revolution - we had crazy fun with that game back in the day.

Until you vetoed sports games I was all set to post Mario Tennis - the single greatest videogame of all time, no less.

But in light of your [sub]unfair[/sub] prejudice, I have to pick Tetris. Or Harvest Moon. Or Animal Crossing.

Shoot I was going to say Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, but someone beat me to it. Brain Age and Big Brain Acadamy for the Wii/DS are fun and non-violent. Wii Sports and Wii Music are non-violent but there is some debate as to how fun those are in the long run. A lot of what is offered on WiiWare is non-violent but again, there you have a mixed bag when it comes to quality. Mario Party games are non-violentish. Wow I've noticed that most of these games are for the Nintendo, way to stay family friendly guys! But if you want a multiplatform offering I'd go for Guitar Hero, it's very fun. Most Puzzle Games are relatively non-violent, so you might try those.

I think that counts as a sport.

I know, car racing? hardly a sport but, yeah - that's how it's been branded.

OT: Portal, apart from machines and you getting shot...

Maybe not, how about Mario Kart? it's branded as 'comic mischief'.

Tetris and bejeweled are my favorite non-violent games, though to be honest I haven't played many.

This game!

...and on an unrelated note, I'll be dropping a pentomino (look it up) on the next person who says "/thread".

in portal you're a human experiment that's constantly subjected to black humor, it's evident others died horribly before you and you're subjected to experiments where you might get shot, decomposed alive and seriously burned up and you have to kill the companion cube **tears**

dunno about animal crossing and harvest moon but i'm pretty sure that during the course of the game you'll have to end the lives of vegetables and such ... lol

Jet Set Radio. When you had to fight, all you did was skate around awesome levels on your rocket powered grind skates, and spray paint other gangs or the cops.

If you don't really count racing games as a sport Midtown Madness 3 is non-violent and surprisingly fun for a game aged 8 and up can play.
Well, I suppose you do ram into other cars, but the people always survive and you can't hit pedestrians (having tried many times to, I should know).

My list may contain violence, but not enough to earn it an M15+ raiting, or the violence is all in the cutscenes and not playable violence

(wii) Mario Party 8
(Xbox 360) GRID
(Xbox) Jet Grind Radio
(PC) Sam and Max- seasons 1&2
(PS2)Jack and Dexter: the precersor legacy
(PS3) ?
