I'd say Portal, but you do destroy a big robot thing, so therefore the winner is definitely Rock Band. Hellllll yeahhhhh.

Good call!
There's nothing violent about the game. Except murdering all those innocent crops.
but the crops go to feed your family!

Let's see, there are various virtual pet games where you raise and train pet animals. Differant kinds of sim games where you simply build cities or societies or whatever else without any kind of warfare aspects involved. Then there are of course music games where you play an insturment or dance (Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution), and then puzzle games
like Bejeweled or whatever. Not to mention various card games like the ever popular
solitaire for windows, or various Mahjong games. Then of course you have trivia and game show simulators. Electronic "oracles" and "freud" programs where you ask the computer questions or it emulates a virtual personality (nowhere near as popular now).

Then of course you have the extremely prolific genere of sex games, which are churned out in Japan in insane numbers, but have probably been made everywhere. While there have indeed been violent sex games, most of them are like virtual dating simulators with perverted graphics, or some kind of escapist sex fantasy story.

On top of this you have the whole "hidden objects" game genere, as well as mystery adventure games. Those CAN be violent depending on the plotline, but some of them might simply have you looking to get to a treasure, or involve a mystery revolving aroung theft or something where the crime wasn't violent and the criminal more or less surrenders when caught having relied entirely on guile.

I could probably think of more, but the above don't have any violence unless you really, really dig for it. There are tons of non-violent games out there.

Tetris and guitar hero 2 come to mind. I would say burnout 3, but that's actually more violent than a lot of shooters I have, despite it being a racing game.

Catan has no violence if I remember correctly, and there are PC and 360 ports of it.

Checkers isn't specifically violent, versus Chess which is about war.

There is a game for my Android called Abduction, you play as a little cow jumping onto an alien spaceship. It has no violence. It = best non-violent non-board game of all time. /end thread.

Osmos is pretty cool, nice clean puzzlish sort of game.

Audio Surf is pretty fun as well.

Those are the only two none-violent games I have on my computer (both Steam games as well.)

Tetris is horribly violent. Innocent blocks, dropped into a pit with no escape, slowly losing chunks of their body to some unseen God. They want to scream in agony, in terror, in despair, but they have no mouths. And even if they did, they will lose it with time. And the all seeing God above, he does not listen. He does not grant them freedom. They will be shown no mercy this day. Another block enters the queue and awaits his final descent to his doom. He has no mouth and he must scream.
Nice reference, OT: For me, it would have to be Bejeweled 1,2 and all of their spinoffs

Lol I knew someone wouldn't be able to resist asking about that one. I met this girl in one of my high school classes who had the game as well. The class was fairly easy/boring and the teacher was pretty lax, so me and her would just talk about what we were each doing in the game all period. Eventually she went on to become my only girlfriend during high school.

Ah, it all makes sense now. Yes, I felt compelled to ask.
