Mass Effect: Bought it on a whim and I was blown away. Feel like a tool for not realizing what an amazing game it was before then.

Actually, I specifically find that a lot of older games have more passion and innovation than many newer games, so I usually lean towards themZelgon said:Sometimes games can surprise you. Just because they are older, doesn't mean that they aren't good. So my question is: What's the greatest game you bought from an bargain bin? One that you only bought because it was cheap and upon playing realized it was awesome?

I was going to buy Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam, rather cheaply by the way, when I noticed I could get it for 2 dollars less... if I also bought Just Cause with it xDZeroMachine said:Prey. For three dollars.
Three.
Try and find me a better deal than that.

I loved it.
OT: I think I got Oblivion for about thirty bucks. It was like three years after it came out though, so I don't know how much of a bargain that was. It is still my favorite game of all times.
Can you believe it? That game is over six years old now ( I think...)
That's because Microsoft charge developers for making patches to the games. Ends up with developers not wanting to patch them.iDoom46 said:Portal 1, when it was free.
Team Fortress 2, only $10.
I also have pretty much an entire library made up of PS1 and PS2 bargain bin gems:
Robotech: Battlecry (I. Fucking. Love. Robotech.)
The ENTIRE PS2 Devil May Cry trilogy for only $30.
Final Fantasy VII, $10.
MGS3: Snake Eater, Dark Cloud, Xenosaga, Star Wars: Starfighter, The Spyro games... I could go on forever.
Actually, now I feel sort of ashamed that I don't really go bin hunting anymore and just buy games as the come out. Bin hunting was definitely more fun.
You're better off. I got The Orange Box for the 360 when it first came out, but TF2 sucks so much on the Xbox that I had to go out and buy the PC version.Innegativeion said:Used orange box for like 10 or 20$. Forget how much it was.
4 of the greatest games I've ever played (don't have xbox live gold for TF2) That's like 2-5$ per game. Best deal I ever got.
Honestly, they haven't updated the Xbox version once, but the PC version has been updated countless times. Also, last time I played TF2 on Xbox there was only ONE game ever available with the same six people, and that was two or three years ago!
