Great Naval Battles of the North Atlantic. An historical game recreating some of the famous naval clashes of WW2 way back in the dinosaurs days of DOS. Something about shooting the hell out of an enemy battleship with 16' naval rifles while dodging through shell splashes that is just really addicting.

I loved Nox, but I only know one other guy who's even heard of it.

Also: Does anybody remember Drakan?
Nox, wasnt that the RPG, with the guy being taken into the alternate universe or something? He owns some orb and some wizard chick trys to get it back and brings him back with it? I think i remember playing that at one stange... was a few years ago though so i cant really remember it..

and yeah Drakan was a fairly popular game, well atleast amongst the peopel I knew...had a sequal aswell didnt it?

Robotech: Battlecry. I don't know why people said it was mediocre. The transformations were actually useful.
I think you had to be a Robotech fan to really enjoy that one. I had dreamed all my life of having a game where i could fly a Veritech, and i felt the cell-shading style REALLY fit the game perfectly. Absolutely loved it.

The sequel didn't do anything for me though. THAT one i did find to be pretty mediocre.

At any rate: My choice has to be the "Advance Wars" series for the GBA/DS. Everyone i meet has never heard of the game, when they first start playing they fear it's too kiddy/cutesy animated, and then after a day are absolutely hooked and must play them all.

Though it has a following I would have to go with Deus Ex. Literally no one I talk to has ever heard of the game

What a shame

Anyone heard of Vigilante 8?
While I never played either of the Vigilante 8 games I did play and own the game they were a spin off of. Namely Interstate '76. Fun game that was.

That game was funny.

X-Com

At least no one I know knows what those games are.

Apparently I'm the only person on the planet to ever hear about Sparkster and Demon's Crest.

Star Control 2/Ur-Quan masters. The only downside of it was the time limit.

EDIT: And yeah, so many people don't know Planescape: Torment even though almost everyone who played it liked it

Dragonfire for the PSone. I never heard anybody talk about it and it seems that I am the only person on this planet who played it.

It was kind of like a 3D version of Super Castlevania for the SNES except for the fact that you killed dragons. It was bloody awesome but I lost the game and haven't played it for about 8 years.

I never played an X-Com game but I've heard about them and even Spoony said that they are awesome.

Some of them (or all of them I don't know) are on Steam.

Seems to prove that if you don't market your game a lot, it will fail no matter how good it is.
Yes, that seems to be somewhat true.

One that I know of is Second Sight on the PS2. An excellent game for it's time and it's still very good now.

Anyone else played it?

Also, Silver, and Syphon filter: the omega strain
Silver was awesome! I remember that ^^

I remember that the main bad dude had one of the best voices I had ever heard in a game when I started playing it.

Wacked!
Chromehounds.

All were fun, two of them wanted to try something different and take a gamble. I enjoyed all of them and still have them.
Lol, I enjoyed Wacked! aswell, it was certainly unique.

I've always loved capcom's monster hunter. Sadly I've never met anyone in person who had played it. It was the first online multiplayer game I had ever played. It was on the PS2 and the PSP. I had always hoped that the third installment would come to the Xbox 360 but it's going to be exclusively for the wii... I think I may cry.

Ring of Red on the PS2.

Petrolpunk-mecha alternate history war story action/strategy RPG. Completely unique. Totally linear with little to no replayability, but great fun while it lasted.
