Blitzball in FFX

Triple Triad in FFVIII (yes the game is a big bowl of nonsense but the card game is addicting)

Making factory items/weapons in Rogue Galaxy (because it actually involves a lot of thought in the more complex recipes)
The factory items process made me suffer a migraine, but blitz ball is the best mini game

GAWL, no Spheeda fans? Bummer. In Dark Cloud 2, there was a golf-inspired mini called Spheeda. Best Golf game ever along with being the best mini game I've played.

The minigame in Spy Fox in Dry Cereal (an old point and click children's adventure game) that can you play on your wrist watch.

Basically it was a side scrolling shooter where you took control of a transforming vehicle. When you were underwater it was a submarine, when you raised yourself onto the surface it turned into a boot, and then you could go even higher, and start flying by turning yourself into a plane. The submarine fired sub sandwiches, and the plane fired plungers.

What? Shut up, it was fun as hell when I was a kid.
Fucking hell.

I LOVED THAT GAME!

Edutainment at it's finest.

The U-Drive-It missions from SimCity 4. Still one of the best known examples of integrating mini-games into main gameplay.

Astro Chicken from Space Quest III.

...Okay I'm really just nominating it for the music.

I don't normally do card games but Triple Triad was just one big addictive time-sink for me.

I remember spending a good two hours or so at the start of FF8, just after the Fire Cavern, stealing everyone's cards. I just ran up to virtually every npc in the game spamming the square button, and cursing every time they wanted to reintroduce the Random rule.

You're the first person I've ever met who's played that game. Soul mates? I think so.
Putt Putt, Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam. I played 'em all.

I generally hate mini-games.

But I like the Battle Game in Super Mario Bros 3(?).

There was a (i think)Might and Magic game, where you could play a game in the Tavern that was like a simplified version of Magic the Gathering, that one was addicting.
Arcomage in Might and Magic 7 and 8, eh. 'twas a pretty fun game to play.

On topic: Blitzball in Final Fantasy X was good, but I've always loved Triple Triad from FFVIII the most of any mini-games. Damn I enjoyed playing that, not to mention that the cards could help you in the game, too.

YOU

people just won this thread.

I loved acromage! I loved Might and Magic 7 entirely actually...

Oh. My. God. Yes.

Happy Fun Sub was the bomb! that music was just so damn addictive! and the only vid on youtube is some terrible camcorder version! Dammit I'm holding the disk right now, going to go and re install it just to play HFS!

Also the Bloodring in GTA Vice City. Even though VC had the worst car handling until IV came along, the bloodring was right up there (even more than paramedic) as GTA's finest test of driving skill. and the time limit just gets higher each time.. is there ever an end to it? I still don't know!

This and then some. Any time I pick up a deck of cards all I can hear in my head is the Triple Triad music.

For me, my favorite that I can recall has to be one of the shortest ever, simply because it was so damn funny the first time I saw it. It's one of the few moments in video games that pretty literally had me ROFLing.

It was in one of the Rayman Raving Rabbids games, I think it was called World Tour or something. You're sitting on top of the Arc d'Triumph and you shake a bottle of soda then drink it as fast as you can in order to make your rabbid let out an epic burp that destroys not only the Champs Elysees but potentially Paris itself, and can be heard from space! Thinking of it now, it really isn't that much of a laugh but I was so surprised at it the first time I played I crack up whenever I think about it.

Liar's Dice in Red Dead Redemption is pretty addictive. I also spent far more time in the casinos of San Andreas than I did on murderous rampages, which is never a good thing.

I love dead ops! I got on black ops and my friend said for me to play dead ops. I was thinking "what the heck is that". I played it and have been playing it for about 2 hours.
