So I was reading an article by Chuck Klosterman over on Grantland ( http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6763000/bad-decisions ) in which he argued that Breaking Bad was the best show on television over the last decade. He also asserted that the top four television shows of the decade (I should probably point out that I live in America) were clearly above and beyond the rest: Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Wire, and The Sopranos. Now, I haven't watched a ton of television recently, so I was wondering if any fellow escapees would be able to pick a show made over the last decade that they believe is better than these four and give their arguments.

So how about it? What other shows of the last decade do you believe deserve to be in the top tier and why?

My name is Michel Weston. I used to be a spy until

*We got a Burn Notice on you. You're blacklisted.

Amazing show. Every episode is basically a mini-action movie.

My only complaint is that Gabrielle Anwar, the girl who plays Fiona is way too skinny. I have never been attracted to her, and for that, she fails as a female lead.

It's her attitude that turns me off, personally. Bruce Campbell can be a cocky bastard because he's Bruce Campbell. She's just some girl who knows how to blow things up.

I don't know if I'd call that one of the best TV shows of the last decade, but then, I barely watch TV anymore, so for all I know Burn Notice is the best there is.

Maybe House? House kicked ass, at least for the first two or three seasons, I stopped watching after that. Yay Hugh Laurie!

My favorite has been Band of Brothers, a show that I loved absolutely every minute of.

Sublime.

Fantastic acting, writing, props, music, choreography. Unmissable and unforgettable.

(But not the terrible US version)

I'll probably get alot of hate but i heavily enjoyed Lost, and think its one of the best shows of the last decade and of all time.

I'm surprised i have to say it... Firefly
This. So much this.
I didn't expect to see this brought up as low as the 12th post, though. :p

This, followed closely by Scrubs, for me. I've seen every single episode of the first 8 seasons at least 4 times each.

His list is pretty good. They're all very good shows. Frankly you can't go wrong with just about anything HBO's done.

But a list without Arrested Development, the best comedy of all time, let alone this decade, is a list that's incomplete.

"We provide...Leverage." God, I love that show.

Ed, Edd, n Eddy, God rest their souls, as well as Burn Notice.

On the anime side, Gundam 00 deserves some merit. Seriously, I'd take this over that over-hyped Gundam Wing crap. Too bad the movie wasn't that great.

Anything thats not firefly or arrested development. Firefly wasnt bad, it just wasnt really worth all its hype. Arrested development in my honest opinion is just awful. Aside from being bad anti humor, it also creates a second crime against humanity in perpetuating Michael Cera's existence.

EDIT: As for Breaking bad. I really dislike that show. Its not that I find it bad. Just that I find it insanely boring. I mean really, how the hell can you make a show about drugs and money boring? And without the drugs and money.. what do you have left? Rubicon./edit

Back on topic, I would suggest even though its not a personal favorite, House M.D would have to be one of the best. Its massive widespread appeal, its longevity (even though its pretty much humping the shark as of late) and the fact that it is a well made show would have to merit one of the best.

Personally, I have too much ADD, so I tend to go with what I am impressed with at the moment which would be Game of Thrones (though I wasnt impressed until about episode 6)

Scrubs, Arrested Development, Firefly, Dexter, Band of Brothers, Game of Thrones, Spartacus, Corner Gas, Doctor Who, Psych, Inbetweeners, Walking Dead. I really can't compare any to the 4 listed, but these are all great shows I would recommend trying out.

Dexter Season 1 and 2.

It started going down hill after that. By the way, am I the only one who think Jeniffer Carpenter is sexy than Julie Benz?
