Escapist, if you had to say the best thing about living where you live is, what would it be? Cheap living? Great nightlife? Good radio or TV?

For instance, I live in NYC and I have to say the greatest thing about living here is the food.

The beach/sea/cliffs.

If it wasn't for those there wouldn't be a town here, there is nothing else worth coming here for.

When you get to leave it. Really, Leeds doesn't have much going for it.

Actually, I suppose the suburban aspect to some areas is really nice, but juxtapose that with the fact that the area I live in is the only nice area, and is therefore the 5th most robbed area of the United Kingdom. Fuck Leeds.

Uhh... The... Church? There's a bunch (about 12) houses around an intersection, and there's a massive church right in the middle of town. That's all there is.

The best thing about the village I live in is that hardly anyone else does.

EDIT: It doesn't even have a supermarket you have to go to the next slightly bigger village.

Great culture, and you never have to walk anywhere in the city. Very multicultural as well. It's big enough that there's probably a niche for you to fit into if you're so inclined. For example, my friend is in a steampunk LARP group. How many cities do you know of with a steampunk LARP group?

Melbourne's a pretty big city in Australia, and we have a surprising amount to offer. Also, our water tastes awesome. It really does.

Hmm.... despite being small, Fjugesta has a SystemBolaget.

Explanation: We don't sell booze in regular stores in Sweden, we have to buy our liquor at a government-owned alcohol shop. And those are rare in villages with less than 2000 inhabitants.

Well...
There's plenty of choice for places to go. Don't like one electronics retailer? Go to another. Dislike one cinema? Go to another. Dislike one sex shop? Go to another fucking city, we don't need your kind here.
[small]I love you all really[/small]

Worst thing? The council spends its budget on THE WORST THINGS IMAGINABLE. Like big-ass shiny buildings that have nothing inside.
Or pavements on country roads literally 5 people use regularly.

I'd say the history of it.
Although the current population of chavs ruins it >.>
But I live in the hometown of the modern Hovercraft, the Supermarine Spitfire, the only small town in England with a super-yacht refit yard, across the drink from the port where the Mayflower and Titanic set out from (Which was bombed to ruins, and rebuilt. The city, that is), and some other things that I could not think of right now.
Edit: We also have the world's oldest operational and still used pier train, which was visited by the Royal family at some point, and Lawrence of Arabia lived here for a few years. I'll add more as I remember them >.>

Ever heard of that crappy show "Crash Addicts" on OLN?? Sadly that is probably the best thing around here. I live in the sticks surrounded by read necks and skin heads.

It's hard making friends with the locals when they don't even understand how to turn on a computer. Can't wait until I leave.

I live in a pretty small town.I guess the best thing about it is that it's surrounded by countryside so you're never far from nature but at the same time it's only a 20 min bus journey from the nearest city

My town has tons of great stuff. We're a very close community, we have a low crime rate, we live right on the Hudson River, and Washington Irving lived here for most of his life, which is why we named the town after him.
