Both of the good endings to bioshock 1 and 2. I also like the good ending to fallout 3. I get a heroic send off and when broken steel came out I got to say "I'm still alive bitches!".

What, no mention of Halo: Reach's ending yet?

Even Yahtzee liked it, which is saying something, considering his usual thoughts on Halo.
considering how the rest of the game sucked and the character I was playing had zero emotional value to me, the impact was severely lessened. Besides, I'll never get why he didn't just get on the Pelican! go, fight another day! noooo reason to stay.

OT: Shadow of the Colossus, great ending, and I'm surprised the legend of Zelda hasn't gotten some nods. End of Twilight Princess and Windwaker were fantastic (and I'm making the final boss battle inclusive in the ending).

there is a lot of 'em tho...

I quite liked the good ending to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It's the only game ending that's managed to make me cry.

inFamous 1 would have to be up there for me. I was getting so bored with the story and forced myself to finish the game, but I'm so glad I did because the ending made the entire story awesome for me.

OP, you said specifically the good ending for inFamous 2, but I found both good and bad endings to be surprisingly emotional endings. That ending song definitely enhances it, too.
The endings of both games were complete surprises to me, and I know basically what happens in the Bad ending of inFamous 2, but I haven't played it yet and so haven't fully experienced it enough to rate it.

*hopes that made sense*

Somebody didn't understand the plot. Maybe if you'd paid more attention to it, the game would have sucked less for you. Noble 6 needed to stay behind and fire the gun at the approaching Covenant ship, or the Covenant ship would blow the Pillar of Autumn up, which would basically mean YOU LOSE. If he got on the pelican, he would have died just as surely - it's just that hundreds of other people, including the Master Chief, would have died along with him, and he would have accomplished nothing as he died other than ensuring humanity's utter extinction.

Oh, and by the way, Noble 6 basically = Gordon Freeman. He's you. If you don't like that, I can understand - lots of people don't, it's a huge YMMV issue. "Zero emotional value" kinda misses the point.

Earthbound lets you explore the whole world after you beat the final boss, which was pretty cool and sentimental. Shadow of the Colossus had a crazy ending. Mass Effect 2 has a really good ending as well... I was holding my breath the whole time, and was so sad when Thane died.

Crysis Core comes to mind, even without ever having played Final Fantasy 7 it still manage to choke me up.

Skies of Arcadia wrapped thins up perfectly especially after such a grande adventure. It wins.
This. I wish, I really wish for some sort of sequel or HD make-over. Come on SEGA! Stop touching Sonic inappropriately and make Skies of Arcadia 2.
hell yeah, maybe a port to the 3ds (which can handle the full scale of the Dreamcast original) and make some nice 3d airship battle adjustments.

Yep makes sense. You shouldn't be disappointed. I was the reverse and played the evil ending first and basically knew the good ending, but both times were pretty powerful for me.

I cried at the ending of Half-Life 2 Episode Two; if something can make me feel that emotion towards the characters it must be good.
Also the last world in Braid was mind-blowing and Portal 2 has the best ending I can remember in the last few years.

Red Dead Redemption.

The entire game's story and thematic elements were built around certain questions...

"In the world we live in, is is possible to bury your past and start a new life?"
"What in your life is worth fighting for and how hard are you willing to fight for it?"
"Does the justice system create the monsters that it fights against?"
"Is vigilante justice equally valid to civic justice?"

In the ending/epilogue, all these questions were answered in such a way that the ending is burned onto my psyche. I will never forget it. Lots of game endings have moved me, or touched me, or taught me something, but RDR's ending is the only one that made a profound impact on me as a full-grown adult.

Gotta go with Breakdown. The second half of that game is just one giant run of catharsis.

Persona 3 hasn't been said? Man, you guys all suck.

I loved the end of Persona 3. I love most of that game, actually. The end just puts the bow on a beautiful game.

...Haven't played FES, so I can't comment on that.

I really liked the ending to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

After I beat it I was satisfied, but still sat around thinking about the ending.

Off-topic: I can kinda understand the advertising captchas, but the one I just got seemed like a computer could read it and that defeats the entire purpose. It's just making me see an ad before I post.

Metal Gear Solid 3 and Red Dead Redemption (to me) had the most fulfilling endings, my only qualm with RDR was Jack...fucker.

Final Fantasy VII and IX. They always get me choked up, but, in my defense, I've always been an emotional person.
