Yeah, games need better music. Music is really important in games. A lot more than most people realise. And orchestrated music =/= good music! So often it's just forgettable and pointless. We need more music with strong memorable melodies that really cement the mood and tone of the game! Think about how many of your favourite games have awesome catchy themes to them. It really plays a big part.

And the South Park game isn't primarily a platformer. That's the first footage I've seen of it but I've read a fair bit on it and it's pretty clear it's supposed to be an RPG.

And a controller for the iPhone already exists. It looks a bit unwieldy if you ask me, since it doesn't look particularly portable, but it's out there. Plus I can't see it being be compatible with very many games. Take a look:

I agree with bob about the Sexist/Sexy thing. Like Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja. One of the games promotion artwork was, I'm not kidding, the main character with her shirt rip off, being groped from behind by one of the other female characters. This is something I expect to see from fanart, not actual art put out to advertise the game.

When you actually play the game, it's a very simple dungeon crawler style game with at its most mature, a few cheap sex jokes. It certainly doesn't have anything like the aforementioned artwork in it.

And I think they actually are working on game accessories for the iDevices. I was at the book store the other day and saw they had an arcade hookup for iPads so it looks and plays like an old arcade game, and I think I saw online somewhere pictures for an iPhone/iPod hookup that made it look more like a DS (not sure if it was real or not)

Overall Bob, pretty good episode...considering your weekend lol

I think it's pretty obvious why the Zelda franchise never delved too deeply into topics of sexuality before. See, what made Ocarina of Time so great is the fact that it basically mirrors the journey into Manhood that it's target audience has just begun, or is about to begin.
That being the case, vague interest in the subject is relevant, but overt pursuit of a serious romantic relationship was pretty out of place.

Mmm looking back on it I do got to agree that Skyward sword did had alot of love related involvement compared to the past games. Yeah the Link and Zelda relationship is far better compared to Twilight Princess due to Zelda wasn't in it 98% of the entire story.
I get the feeling that if twilight princess wasn't a zelda game she wouldn't have even been in it, I mean the real relationship in that game was between link and midna but considering that most of the time they were together, one was a midget and the other was a wolf, it was probably best for nintendo not to push that too much, still though, I think it would have been really cool if at the end of it they make it apparent that link was going after midna or trying to follow her into the dimension she went to.

Also, I like skyward sword but your assistant is definitely one of the worst sidekicks in all of gaming.

Its Japan, from what I saw over there everything is sexualized or made to look "alluring" in some way.
You must be trolling. The Bob discused such xenophibic nonsense before. (But then again, he followed it by Mr. Strawman saying "I heard it on 4chan!";; 4chan, yes rife with people who are xenophobic, but founded by "weaboos" to discuss japan and its culture, and has boards dedicated to such things...)

Well, I worked out there for 6 months and saw this oversexualization for myself. I assure you im not "trolling" or just quoting 4bloodychan, I can only say what I saw and experienced with my own eyes.

A junk drawer episode titled "game on".

Let me guess. He's gonna give some praise to Nintendo about something and than bash on Microsoft and/Sony about something.

...

Yep, there it is. talking about the "awesomeness" of the new Zelda installment while openly laughing at the PS Vita as a serious handheld console.

Dammit Bob, you've got some nice episodes now and then, but your unconditional Nintendo love can be really tiring sometimes.

If only Nintendo made this discovery while writing Metroid: other M.

Or maybe...
Wouldn't it be weird if Other M was entirely WHY they sat down and figured it out?

Oh yeah, love that love triangle with the bully, esp. since the bully looks like what Ace Ventura would look like if he were a transvestite.

Here's where I draw the sexist line:

If almost ALL of the woman are barely dressed, while the men are all pretty much fully armored, it be sexist. It's fantasy, so I expect there to be one lady or two dressed... less, but I expect a couple of men to be dressed the similarly, and I expect that most of the ladies should be fully armored and a tad more practical. Those leather strapped ladies and busty dress wearing gals should be an exception, not the rule.

You want girls to play games with you and not call you a pig for your choice in games? Yeah. You can have your cheesecake and eat it too but moderation will keep you from "pigging" out.

The screenshots from Zelda towards the end of the video showcase why no one takes the Wii seriously these days.

I am not a graphics whore. I still play games from 2001 (WC3). But... seriously? This is a brand new game? I played a game with better graphics 7 years ago. AND you want me to get out of my chair and flail my arms like a jackass? PASS!

That footage was from a different South Park game, Tenorman's Revenge, which was the game he was referring to. He only heard of it because of the South Park RPG.

Oh, I didn't know there was another one coming too. That footage did look oddly different from the screen shots of the RPG I've seen.

The no button thing is the only reason I cant get into iphone games. Sometimes your just tired of a screen.

Also, Bob laughed at the Vita. What the hell man? I think his blind love of all things nintendo forces him to not acknowlege a good device when he sees it.

I, for one, would love it if Apple starting selling some sort of cradle specifically designed for gaming with the iphone/ipod touch.

Also, what is with everyone here in the comments getting all worked up about the sexist Soul Caliber ad? Guys, that ad is as sexist as you can get without getting your ad removed entirely. There is absolutely no denying that.

Okay Bob, I seriously want to know. Are you gay? Hey nothing to be ashamed about, but at least come out with it already. All that political correctness that comes from you is a bit annoying already (same-gender marriages etc.), but... You don't like breasts? Dude. Nobody is going to advertise a sexy/-ist game with a giant cock. I bet that wouldn't be 'degrading' would it?

yes it would. the main problem with this poster that the only people who find this really interesting are 13 years old or people with like minded minds. the annoying part of this poster is that the fans are now degraded as guys who only wants to see breasts and see women as objects, but that isn't the case. most fans like it for the good gameplay. i know that ivy is almost naked, but like bob said, everyone was dressed on a weird way, it was just the art style. and for ivy we got Hilde, a female warrior with a complete armor set.

and i wouldn't had a issue with this poster showed the whole character, but they chose to focus on one thing only. the breasts, like if those are the most important part of the game, and that isn't true. sure it is eye candy, but it represents the game on a horrible way.
