This video is wrong. there have been only two times I have not agreed with moviebob on his vids - one was his worst person video on gameoverthinker, and the other is this. This takes it a step further from just being ignorant of a genre to just being ignorant on an entire sector of the industry.
First off, PC gaming, while it did not start off with the popularity of consoles, had a very good amount of great games in the 90's. This is a point that, whenever he talks about PC gaming in the past, he seem to kind of gloss over. Pc gaming really got it's identity with great titles like Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Deus Ex, System Shock, Doom, and many others. He seem to mostly focus on Doom and the FPS boom in his videos, leaving me to believe he knows very little about Pc gaming outside of the absolute mainstream.
This kind of explains why one of his main reason for PC gaming "dying" is because the FPS's are moving to the consoles. FPS games are a small part of the PC gaming library. Not including the massive amount of indie games that the console online stores can only dream of, there is still a solid, worthwhile lineup for the PC this year, and there was last year, the year before that, etc. that for post length purposes I'm not listing. If you want to say the PC is dying, the "few games" argument is has and always will be torn apart. Yes, there is a lot of zynga games, and yes, the mmo and rts genres are the most popular, but it is not the only thing on the system. That is like saying how the most popular wii title is wii sports, therefore it is the only title. In terms of exclusive games content alone, there is still reason to invest that money into a good PC (other than the many other tasks you can do with a powerful computer you cannot do with a portable device).
The second part of the video is more interesting. Like all of his vids, he usually come to an interesting point halfway through after informing and building up to it during the first half, although this time, the build up was full of console fanboy propaganda (kind of exaggerating, I realize what big affect consoles have had on the industry). However, it is still flawed.
PC gaming as a platform is superior to consoles. No, I am not saying the games are better, as that is entirely subjective. But the platform itself has more potential than consoles, and consoles ever will. Today's gaming PC's are tommorrows consoles, and that is being generous. For $500 more than a console, you can have what is a generation above current consoles. Better graphics, customizeable controls (including being able to use a multitude of gamepads, a lot of which directly maps buttons to keys which you can easily change around in the options of a Pc game, and many others that sync up with a game immediatly with no configuration needed), hooking it up to a monitor or your television, better, more cohesive online service, choice in online services like steam or xfire, or even not to have one etc.
The one thing consoles do have over Pc gaming, is motion controls, and outside of the Wii, that is not utilized as much on the Ps3 360 brethren. In other words, from a technical standpoint, there will always be people that want this platform.
Many, including from what i can tell moviebob, think like this

the recent plateau in processing power and graphics technology, and the fact that games are at a point where they can't get a whole lot more realistic
When this is absolutely not true. There is still a lot more we can do with improving tech in games. It is not just about the graphics effects or, something that does directly affect gameplay, the smooth look and feel of the game, it is also the scale of the games as well. Games can get bigger, have more detail in gameplay and design elements. We will always being improving, and if we ever do reach a plateau, it will not be for a while, and it will happen on the more powerful PC's first.
My point is, there will always, always be people who want to have that superior experience, who like the Pc style games (which is more than just rts games and mmos), who like the platform of the PC gaming, the huge potential of the system. There will always be devs, even ones that develop games for consoles, that see that they could easily make money on the Pc buy releasing or porting their game over to the PC (see many of the 360 timed exclusives). And these people will buy PC's just for that gaming experience.
Now, yeah, it is more money than consoles. But people who are serious about the hobby and really like the unique set of exclusive games on PC (and that is not including the indie games) will be willing to buy it. they are the minority to be sure (a very big minority of a very big medium), but they still exist, and PC gaming still has an audience that would shell out the money for the Pc experience.
You mention that eventually, the "PC" will no longer exist in many households. I highly doubt this will happen very soon, as the massive power of a PC will only increase with the strength of handhelds, and until both PC's and handhelds plateau, there will always be a point in having a PC. You argue that having a bunch of smaller devices that all accomplish different tasks makes having a Pc pointless, but you are looking at it at the wrong angle - the PC, while being a non portable device, is the everything machine. Texter, cell phone, internet, gaming, movies, Tv shows, work software, office software, servers, etc. It is a very convenient machine. And even if the Pc did go, laptops would still be able to do all of these features for it. Sure, you cannot bring your PC on the go, but when you are at home and you want to do a variety of tasks, it is far more convenient to be able to do them all on one machine.
So, through all of this, Pc gaming is going nowhere. In fact, according to many online services for Pc gaming, it is only getting bigger.
I think I have ranted enough. This video is, objectively, wrong. And this is coming from a fan of every other video he has made, aside from the worst person video on gameoverthinker.
