Australia is was too quietly patriotic. Having a superhero just seems obnoxious and not really our style.

Edit: Maybe Saxton Hale although it was an American creation

Yeah, this episode didn't really hit it off with me. I thought we got into the deeper meaning with this show, not going off onto random tangents that really don't make a whole lot of sense.

England has super heroes, just without powers.. Theirs V..and the entire Watchmen team. Yes they were published in America but created by a man born in England.

Yeah, that big picture kind of painted itself into a messy watercolor at the end; but I get the gist. Being proud of your home country is fine with me, just try not to be a smug or obnoxious ass about it. That being said, the obnoxious ass in me wants America to win at everything.

Every country in the world has some degree of nationalism. America is the only who thinks its nationalism is of vital importance and shouldn't be trifled with. (Well except for countries who are squirmishing against their neighbours, like those in the Gaza Strip, the Balkans, Northwest Africa etc. etc. And the hilarious dictatorships like North Korea. Essentially America thinks an American being proud of being American is as important a question for the world as what's going on in Palestine right now.)

They touched upon that tournament idea in one of the gundam series. The american in it was a champion boxer.

The only superheroes here in Mexico would be El Santo, a super-luchador who's last movie dates back to the mid 1950's (he's in much need of a comback), and El Chapulin Colorado, who's basically a walking spoof of superheroes, so it would work best as a comedy I think.

Someone should take Bob's idea and turn it into a movie.

Your whole 'Street fighter to determine problems' thing was also explored in Red Dwarf except that encompassed every sport, not just fighting. Also all the players were engineered to be the best at thier particular sport.

I thought the reason people "hated" Captain America would be hes boring and not as easy to sell as say Batman, hes no worse than Superman but at least SUps has more easier to ause mundane life stuff you can mix in with the geek stuff.

Other than that I do not see any problems with it unless they make him a bland self parody, to me Hes like Batman only less gadgets and he tends to fight for or in an organization as Batman is his own organization and such..

Also short and not very deep felt like filer......

No Canadian Superheroes? What about Team Epic?

Need I also remind anyone that Wolverine is Canadian in origin?

This week, MovieBob rants about Captain America.

Having a show =/= your thoughts being correct.

You need to kick it up a notch bob. This is again another topic that was presented in a messy way and once again it felt like you were seeing things that aren't really there.

I dunno it might just be me, but no sir... I don't like it. So far at least.

Bob, your idea for world peace is the premise for Mobile Fighter G Gundam (more or less), and that was a terrible show (as far as gundam shows go, anyway).

Although, I guess that doesn't mean it wouldn't work?

You'd better hope I never find you.

At last my avatar fits perfectly :).

Sorry Bob, but patriotism is just plainly stupid. Where you happen to be born, be it a slum in Somalia or Beverly Hills, ist totally random and thus there is absolutely nothing to be proud of.

Be proud of what you achieve, everything else is just vanity.

That said, I would love to see a Captain Sverige (think Marvel's Thor, but with a blue and yellow dress :)
