Juandonde, please use the enter button occasionaly. It makes really long posts easier to read. Really sorry about your dad and mom. That WoW really gets some people.

hmmmm, lets see now.... I've become so much of an introvert that I'm down to two friends, that I can barely call friends, I refuse to talk to my family, I lost my job...

I Miss a lot of birthdays, one wedding so far...

but I'm getting better...

Hmmm I've missed anniversary dinners, my sisters baptism, my first week of a new job (which I incidentally don't have anymore!) and an inquest appearance. But these all pale in comparison to my biggest skip:

I missed my own 21st birthday party - which I'd spent weeks planning and spent more than $3,000 on getting everything prepared.

So I got online tonight cause I figured I would read the posts and get a few laughs and then maybe post who I thought was the big winner in something I considered a harmless question posted in good fun.

Honestly after reading all this though.... I'm a little depressed. I guess I forgot that there really is such a thing as a true gaming addict and though me and my friends laugh about our silly excesses we really have the rest of our lives in some degree of order.

Peace folks, love thy fellow gamer. No more threads from me for a while.

In 8th grade I broke my leg and started playing video games to pass the time. I didn't think of it much then as I was into Karate a lot doing tournaments and winning some losing some etc you know competitive sport.

...
I was lying about everything in this blurb btw I just wanted to win. =D
I gave up on WoW so I should be the biggest loser.

Meals, the ability to sleep properly (Now I have full blown insomnia), though that might just be 'cause I detest sleeping, and, in 10th grade, for about 4-5 months, I completely destroyed my ability to properly feel emotions. Not freaking joking. Now, instead of being emotionless, I'm just kind of emotionaly messed up. Unless I'm playing video games, any emotion I feel becomes anger. If I am playing games, then emotions are what they are.
I've noticed this a bit in myself, too. I don't blame games for it so much as being tired all the damn time.
The biggest thing I've skipped was a party involving everyone from my school, but they were all wankers and I think I was actually better off staying at home to play DoD: S.

I gave up one boyfriend because I had a raging case of EverQuest addiction, but he was a creep in retrospect so I'm not sure if I'd exactly call that a loss.

I got the 10 Day trial for WoW and spent almost an entire day playing. I got up around 7, messed with my cat, got on, got off around 4-5:30 to eat and watch T.V., and played until 10.

I didn't study very hard for a hard test because I was watching my brother play this super cool game he borrowed from a friend. The original Half-Life.

I did play world of warcraft, but I sold my account for like $500 =D
A friend of mine bought WoW, the Burning Crusade, and a 6 month time card, thought it was boring, so he looked up good ways to chain quests and get experience on the internet and got a bunch of level 70's to sell.

Hmmm...skipped multiple projects/classes for video games. I suppose that accounts for the worst of it. Have a degree and a job now, so I suppose that doesn't really matter.

..but I don't think of it as skipping classes/homework for games. I didn't want to go to the classes, or do the work in the first place. If it wasn't games, I would have been doing something else (and in some cases, I was). Video games just happen to be my primary form of entertainment, so that's what I did.

It just seems to me that blaming video games for skipping/missing things, in some cases, is just an overlying excuse for something else.

Erm.... I honestly can't think of anything. As much as I play games and enjoy them, almost everything else takes priority, social, educational or work related.

mainly food. for both time and money consumption reasons. i would buy games and have little funding left for day to day use, and there are just some games that make you forget it was dinnertime 5 hours ago. lol hasn't helped my physique one bit though-- i'm not really sure what these 'supermodels' are talking about.

Food, mostly. You don't get very hungry from gaming so when I'm home alone I eat perhaps thrice a day. And "sickness" is always an excuse for not showing up to some school event which is not so very important to your future life (I do 10% of my homework, the best in my class).

I don't really lose any sleep over gaming since I sit awake to 1pm, then sleep 'till noon. My biggest "loss" was probably highschool grade picture, I was "ill" and had to stay home playing HL2.
