I never heard of this movie until today and I have no idea why, as looks pretty awesome.

Denzel Washington in post-nuclear dystopia looking haggard and badass, fighting raiders with pipes and machetes... awesome.

I couldn't help but notice that the director is very likely a Fallout 3 fan too...

EDIT: I'm just referring to the film's aesthetic here, please don't take the Fallout comparison too seriously. Sheesh.

EDIT 2: The screenplay writer used to be the Editor in Chief for PC Gamer magazine. Just an interesting fact.

Anyone psyched for this?

hmmmmmm...

Certain parts of it do seem similar to Fallout, yes, but other parts... well, don't.

It lacks the pitch black humour of the Fallout series... In my opinion, without that iconic irony, post apocalyptia just seems too dry in a lot of films.

Its what I love about the Fallout series - it presents this desperate, hopeless abomination of a world yet doesn't take itself too seriously.

This film on the other hand, does look like its completely humourless. Too dry, ya know?

There was this same thread in the Gaming Section today :p

OT: I haven't played Fallout yet, so I can't say.

I'm looking forward to it.
Looks like a good action movie based in The Capital Wasteland a post apocalyptic environment. Have to badger my friend to take me as I'm too cheap to pay for much now.

It looks alright... I was never really into the whole idea of one guy taking out an entire room of people as the camera spins around like that. I think it's a bit silly, but it's a cool looking film that I might just try to enjoy. It looks like... a fun experience. Not the greatest movie of all time, but a good time at the movies.

Oh, also I saw no connection with Fallout at all. Not every movie that's set in post-apocalyptia is based off of Fallout.

I'm still unsure about it. I'll have to wait and see, probably fish around for a couple reviews.

Stiiiiiiill waiting on that Denzel Washington/Samuel L. Jackson collab though...

1: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmila Kunis.
1.3125: I dig chicks with explosives.
2: Are they fighting over a Bible? ... psh... (edited for intolerance)
3: Not enough Brotherhood of Steel/ghouls/supermutants.

Could be good though.

Mila Kunis in a movie that bears even a slight resemblance to Fallout 3?

Hell Yeah!

I'm looking forward to this.

its nothing of fallout. apocalyptic wasteland =/= fallout. jesus. fallout is JUST that... >.>
It is simple human physiology. When People familiarize them selfs with a certain median (E.G:fallout) of a genure they will refer to there familiarity with that median. He just
thought of fallout because of its importance or knowledge of it to him.

Looks like a standard post-apocalyptic movie. Some dude tries to defy the desolation and make something in the tragic and pathetic world of tomorrow. Fallout is a copy of post-apocalyptic movies though so I think its more a copy of that genera then of Fallout 3.

yeah cause Mad Max never did the whole post apocalypse thing or Fist of the North Star or many other things, it was only Fallout 3 that has done that.

seriously go learn some film history first
