No one's attacking your credibility. You're doing that all by yourself.

And there's a reason to 'conform' to proper grammar when it comes to self expression on internet forums: so people understand what you're on about.
actually you're the only one making the statement about my grammar and wrongly about spelling, so yes you ARE attacking it :)

maybe you should learn the definition of the words and terms before you go using them.

also if you can't understand what i'm saying cause i don't use capitalization, then you should go polish up your reading and comprehension skills. if something as simple as a lack of capitalization makes you unable to read or comprehend things, you've got issues reading and understanding the written word.

You want a proper argument? Here you go:

By your logic, no-one should make a comment about the similarity between two aesthetically similar things without first researching the entire history of the medium to find out if there was another thing which used that aesthetic first.

Which quite frankly, is utter rubbish.

Example:

Me: 'Oh look, the blood in Gears of War is red. That's so gory it reminds me of God of War'

You: 'Please, other things like Mortal Kombat did that long ago. Loads of games have red blood. Learn some game knowledge.'

What kind of a person criticises someone else for pointing out a valid similarity between a movie and a game just because the game was recent?

People compare things with other things they are familiar with. If that pisses you off you're going to have a frustrating life.

But good luck 'cutting the path' and pioneering your new cap-less revolution.
wow you just made an even more stupid argument than before. i'm not even sure how to respond to something that is full of points that isn't even near correct nor what i was even saying. you're really grasping at straws and doing it very poorly.

seriously you should go work on your reading and comprehension skills first and then maybe go take some lessons in thought before you go trying to make points and arguments that don't even make sense

you will also notice that i'm not the only one who pointed out how flawed your argument of it being a Fallout 3 ripoff was. the fact that you admitted you were a fanboy made your argument moot from there in because it meant you had no idea what you were talking about and you've further demonstrated it
You're an odd little man.

A rip off? I never said that.

I said the director might have been a fan... in a jovial manner which for some reason you took seriously.

Interesting how you fail to give any counter-arguments against what I said, instead telling me I'm wrong over and over.

Please, never quote me or post in one of my threads again.

I first saw the trailer for this in the cinema, where for some reason it was upside down and the soundtrack back to front. I thought the film was just being edgy =P Although, now I've seen it properly, it does look pretty good.

The Book of Eli's script was written in or before 2007, which was before Fallout 3 was released. That means that it would have to be Fallout, Fallout 2, or Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel The Movie. If they were even sort of similar. And they're not. Other than post-apocalyptia, of course. But that would be more like Mad Max, as it's a movie.
The writer used to be an editor in a PC Gamer magazine, so it's likely he could have played F3 in the meantime and gone 'hey guys... I've a cool idea for the look of this movie!'

I've seen nothing indicating that it's a nuclear apocolypse and not say... a biological one, alien or otherwise.

Th original writer, or the guy they hired to do the rewrite in 2007? After they read the original script I was talking about.
As far as I know, it's the guy who wrote the screenplay that was the gaming mag guy, so yeah not the original writer.

And if you're going to be a pedantic critic of other peoples posts you should learn how to spell and how to punctuate your sentences.

You should try using capital letters sometimes, it would make your argument come across a bit clearer.

How about you educate me in your encyclopedic, omniscient knowledge of post-apocalyptic movies, and in return I'll educate you on the purpose of caps? Fair deal?
nope i won't ever use capitals unless i feel it's necessary, i'd rather cut the path instead of following it like some sheep.

also my spelling is correct, maybe you should learn how to spell a bit better

as for you "attacks" on me, you've decided to use the most stupid and frankly idiotic way of attacking my credibility. why not use facts instead of being a sheep of the people and saying i have to conform like everyone else. i'd rather stand out as my own person, so mostly no capitalization is a great way for me to do that, much like the great ee cummings
Actually, you just look like a semi-intellectual on 4Chan.

Just sayin'...

Difference is, Fallout 3 actually looked good when I first saw it. This looks bad. REALLY bad.

actually i did offer you tons of reasons why you were wrong, such as Mad Max and the whole Road Warrior series. however your lack of comprehension skills did allow you to even see those

so as i've said why not polish up some of your basic reading skills and then try again.

Notice how even the typeface on the logos is similar.

wow you're really grasping at straws there.

i could easily grab several movies like that and show you how similar they are, Resident Evil:Extinction is one that comes to mind and hey it came out before Fallout 3, there's also the aforementioned Mad Max

do you even know what irony means? i'm guessing you don't

like i said i offered Mad Max, Fist of the North Star and there's even stuff such as Escape from New York and Escape from LA and a few others that the Book of Eli draws up before Fallout 3 would come to mind. heck Fallout 3 took a lot of their stuff from those films. but like i said you missed it and are trying to say i didn't point it out in the fist place.

so go learn what irony is and you might realize that you're using the word in a completely wrong way

Yea, The Book of Eli (or Fallout 3 the movie... even though it nothing like Fallout 3 except that it takes place in post-nuclear America)

Tell me, when can we have a post-nuclear movie WITHOUT it being a "Fallout 3 movie"?

I honestly believed this was a Fallout 3 adaption, right up until "The Book of Eli" appeared on screen.

Unfortunately, it seems to be yet another post-apocalyptic wasteland film where people unironically wear black sunglasses and trench coats while performing karate on rednecks.

I'd pass you a shovel at this stage, but you're doing fine without...
