The Odd Thomas series is great. The first book is by far the best, but the others are enjoyable as well.

I just finished The Book Thief as well. It was interesting, because most of the twists were revealed before the event actually happened, but you would still read the book. Also because Death narrates the book and it takes place in Germany during World War II. Yeah. That's pretty interesting as well.

I really dig anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, especially One Hundred Years of Solitude. John Gardner's Grendel was pretty sweet. I like H.P. Lovecraft, but it's not exactly great writing. Milan Kundera is pretty frickin' awesome. Frank Herbert's Dune series is great for the first 4 books. I've liked everything I've read by Kurt Vonnegut, and most of Tom Robbins. Douglas Adams is pretty good. Nine Stories by Salinger has a coupla real gems. Hmm.. that's what I've got, off the top of my head.
