TWICE. First sadness, then happiness.
Both within a 10min span.
So im siting here watching like 'This movie's too cool for school, yo' And then the ****ING movie got all sad and crap and I was 'Hey. HEY. Why is this so sad?! Wait What's this. WHAT IS THIS. TEARS? In MY eyes? OOOOH SHIIIII-
*cries*"
Yeah so that sucked. Then 9.5min later the movie got all ADD and turned all happy and touching and crap. So yet again The wimp inside of me starts silently crying again, And Im like "Why am I so ****ING happy!? I DONT EVEN KNOW."
It's moving, yo. Darn characters weasled their way into my brick heart during Clannad season 1.
NEVER AGAIN. I will now watch 2x the snuff films unflinchingly WHILE EATING POPCORN to make up for this.
SO lets have a nice deep philosophical discussion about how the various ways movie characters can incite deep emotional reactions in their target audiences. For me, this was done through the 1st season of the clannad anime. It's an atypical example, as the movie was created before the series. Typically movies are made after the series, to be sure there's a target audience. Yet I feel it was for the best that I viewed the series first, It gave me a deep emotional connection with the protagonists.
