Yes, and no. Y'see, the class four laser isn't the OMGWTFBBQ laser. It's anything above a class three laser, which means it can potentially burn or harm. However, the military grade lasers they're currently playing around with, are inordinately more powerful than this particular match lighter. Allow me to clarify.

This particular lightsaber uses a 1 watt beam.

They have only admitted the capacity for weapon's grade lasers when they managed to develop a 100 kilowatt beam.

So, the proof of weapons grade laser had to be 100,000 times as powerful as this particular devise before people would start taking it seriously. Yet, it's still a class 4 laser. This thing is not as powerful as you think it is, it at most is likely to singe you, it's 'cancer' causing properties is likely only a little higher than getting sunburn, and there are handheld torches bright enough to blind you, and get this, in both eyes at once.

Theoretically dangerous? Yes. Practically dangerous? Possibly. Dangerous enough to warrant fear mongering, screaming in the streets and justification for the nanny state? Not a chance.

This is stupid. NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BUY THIS . It's stupidly dangerous and should not be allowed for general publics consumption, and since there are already industrial lasers, theis has no reason for existing. There is literally no point for this things existance, and for everyone that wants one because they look cool, there will be a dickhead who misuses it.

OT: Wow, that really needs to be band, and the businesses shut down. I know the government going around shutting things down is very bad for PR, but you have a company selling a weapon touting as being the most deadly of it's kind ever, without any restrictions, to anyone, anywhere (in the U.K.), for a rather small price. I'm pretty sure you can't even buy a gun for two hundred seventy dollars (rough estimate), which at least then it's registered and each gun can be traced, at least in one way or another.

Now altho its pretty dangerous im sure the only ppl who will cause accidents are ppl who already made up their mind about it.
I for one just wanna freak out ppl while im pointing the bloody thing in the sky or somewhere around them. a friend has an older green laser and it worked awesome at night. I remember ppl ducking the light haha it was amazing!
