The Console War Is Over

It's over. The fatal strike has been dealt. Ouya has created a world of possibilities never before dreamed. We can finally sit together and enjoy the miracle that is The Amazing Frog.
I doubt even Nintendo could ever surpass this feat of sheer audacity.

If ou haven't bought an Ouya yet this is all the reason you need.

To be fair though the thing hasn't even launched yet has it? I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait until a few months after launch to make any judgements, even though the console doesn't look like it will appeal to me.

Hmmm, watching that makes me want to play that hilarious PS1 skateboarding game "Thrasher" anyone remember that? Like one of the first games (at least on consoles maybe?) to use rag doll physics and it was awesome. I mean screw actually skateboarding you just wanted to get the guys hurt because he would bounce off everything while being accompanied with bone crunching sound effects and yelps of agony.

Amazing, surely the Ouya will end the console war with such an innovative, polished exclusive.

Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo should all just give up and become 3rd party devs for the Ouya, cause they don't have a chance.

My first thought on seeing the thread title: What did Microsoft do this time?

I think the Ouya will have several emulators that it can use. Including a SNES and N64 emulator. Honestly, that alone could make it worth $99 to me. I could use it specifically for those games. Could be a nice companion piece to my main console.

Of course, the systems actual games, I doubt will interest me...

Yup. That's pretty much it. Still waiting before I decide anything concrete on it, but I likely won't buy it.

To be honest the Ouya isnt bad if you plan on using it as an emulation machine, its just unfortunate that it does show some trouble keeping up with the PS1 generation and anything after that is just not possible to play. If it managed to at least run PS2 games well I actually think I would buy it.

The android games and Ouya exclusives are basicly shovelware stuff so it only holds up if you are into giving retro games a chance.
