"That sounds like a cool and handy power. And I am glad that it is that power, I was worried that it might be some dangerous power or curse or something. And if you do manage to learn to fly, we could fly together. I could grow wings or shape shift into an animal."
"I thought it might have been a curse as well when I first thought about it; but something about that whole 'She has awakened...' still has me confused. I guess that message will be revealed to me in time. And yeah, the two of us flying together would be both cool, and rather romantic as well. I can see it now, its wonderful." Seras let the thought hand for a few moments, basking it the joy that it brang.
"Anyway, how about you. Apart from reconciling with Sandulf, do you feel any different with regards to what you are capable of? After all, I was worried about you as well."
The man in red moved so fast that Roland didn't even get a chance to chirp. That didn't stop him from fluttering violently when he was put under the hat.
"What the bloody hell was that for?" the woodpecker asked angrily once he had been let out of the hat and flown on top of a sink. The woodpecker's voice was clearly male with a slight boston accent.
"Do I look like some kinda spy to you?"
"I thought it might have been a curse as well when I first thought about it; but something about that whole 'She has awakened...' still has me confused. I guess that message will be revealed to me in time. And yeah, the two of us flying together would be both cool, and rather romantic as well. I can see it now, its wonderful." Seras seemed to be very happy. Theon hugged her even closer.
"Anyway, enough about me for a little while, though its very kind of you. Apart from reconciling with Sandulf, do you feel any different with regards to what you are capable of? After all, I was worried about you as well." Theon seemed to think. "Well I feel a bit different now. Because just like my werewolf powers, my alpha powers awakened too. They haven't show themselves yet, but they will eventually allow me to command other werewolves. That is why alpha's are feared among werewolves. Some of them can command werewolves to do things against their will. But those kind of alpha's are very rare." Theon looked over his shoulder, he whispered to Seras. "We could just kiss you know. I mean it isn't like he hasn't seen us kiss before." Theon had teasing smile on his face.
"Well I feel a bit different now. Because just like my werewolf powers, my alpha powers awakened too. They haven't show themselves yet, but they will eventually allow me to command other werewolves. That is why alpha's are feared among werewolves. Some of them can command werewolves to do things against their will. But those kind of alpha's are very rare."
"So, in away, your powers as an alpha are a bit like the mental domination of a succubus then? Hope you don't go using it for your own benefit though." Seras remarked, in a stern voice. Theon then looked over his shoulder, then whispered to Seras.
"We could just kiss you know. I mean it isn't like he hasn't seen us kiss before." Seras let out a giggle, excited by the prospect.
"I don't see the harm in it, sounds fun." She then began kissing Theon on the lips.
Dominic meanwhile was reminiscing his and Nicole's younger days when they were starting out, when he noticed Seras. He was about to react when Nicole grabbed his arm.
"Let them be Dominic, for their sake as well as yours. If you keep intervening, then they'll never grow as a couple. I know you care much for our daughter, but let her have some freedom." Nicole asked in an authoritative tone.
"Yeah... um I'm sorry, your right, I do care for her deeply; I just remember the years when she was younger, all sweet and innocent. And here she is now, all grown up." Dominic then laughed and sat back in his chair. "Look at me, a wise and powerful vampire, and I'm worrying over my oldest child. Who would of thought that I would even be a father in the first place." A smile came to Nicole's face, feeling relieved.
"The fact that you care for your children at all, shows that you were meant to have them. Sure in days of old, this sort of thing may be considered unusual; especially with a human instead of another vampire, but people change with the times. As long as you respect their love, then they'll still respect you in return."
"So, in away, your powers as an alpha are a bit like the mental domination of a succubus then? Hope you don't go using it for your own benefit though." Seras remarked, in a stern voice. "I would never do something like that. And the only way to get that amount of control is by killing other alpha's. And I don't plan on killing anyone any time soon."
Seras giggled when Theon told her that they could kiss. "I don't see the harm in it, sounds fun." She then began kissing his lips. Theon kissed her back, he had been waiting for this moment. He didn't care at all what Dominic would think of the kiss. As soon as he the kiss started only Seras mattered. He placed his free hand on Seras back softly pulling her closer.
Terra had simply been sitting next to Richard, trying to eat an extremely early breakfast - consisting of an extremely unsatisfying pastry - when a man, dressed in gaudy silk robes appeared in a flash of light and sound. Thanks in part to her empathic bond; the appearance was somewhat less surprising to her then it would have been. What did surprise her however was the sudden magical shield that enveloped her and the pair of arms wrapped around her.
"That, my dear love, was William Anester...Have I mentioned that I love you yet? I do" Richards voice said, through the telepathic link. Terra smiled, and returned a short. "And I, you." She would have tried to be more elegant, but 2 A.M. was a mean-spirited time for almost everyone, and she was not an exception to this particular rule.
As Richard pulled back from the sudden, protective embrace, Terra looked down to see the remains of her once, highly in substantive muffin now crushed against her shirt; lost to said embrace. With a half-hearted sigh, she wiped the crumbs from her shirt and went back to reading the small novelette she had picked up in the airport gift shop some time ago; resting her head on Richard's shoulder.
"At least it's comfortable" she thought with a smile.

"Are you my contact? If so, I am glad to meet you." a voice said from behind him. Anester turned to face the unknown voice to find a man looking at him. With a realization of who it must be, Anester smiled and held out his hand. He wasn't sure if Ascended still cared about common courtesy, but he was English; he did care. "You must be Zaheer. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
Realizing that this meant both his... escortees?... had beaten him here, Anester said aloud "Well damn; I was hoping to beat at least one of you two here. Even with teleportation spells, I can't keep up with the two of you I guess."; the apparent "shame" in his voice at being beaten clearly false, meant to lighten the somber mood.

Dominic continued to stare at his daughter and her boyfriend; it wasn't that he didn't trust Theon, he just didn't... okay, he didn't trust him. He'd been at that age; he knew how boys at that age tended to think. He also knew that Nicole thought he was being "over-bearing" and "over-protective", but as far as he was concerned; there was no such thing as "over-protective", and if he was over-bearing then Seras would just have to "deal with it".
It was when Seras started blushing crimson that he decided to speak with them; to stop the public display of affection. He stood up, much to his wife's chagrin, turned, and moved in their direction. He made it three steps before he stopped in his tracks; his concerns forgotten, and replaced by a much greater annoyance. Across the isles of the air-terminal, standing in a small crowd, stood sir Edward Crim; Vampire Lord of Sussex, member of Parliament, and right-foul bastard. He stared, his eyes blinking - not really believing the sight of the bloated lord - before a deep frown appeared on his face.
He started to turn around, hoping to avoid the unwanted encounter, but with a movement of Edward's eyes he was done for; made evident by the cruel, condescending smile that adorned on the lord's face. "Great; just what I need - another problem."

Lord Crim was walking through the terminal; more then a little annoyed. He'd only made the trip to New York at his brothers request; apparently to teach the mans adoptive son the ins and outs of crime management. It was a bothersome chore; particularly when it was to teach a lower creature such skills. half-demons were as despicable as any of the half-breed, mongrels. Their only redeeming value was they were still better then the mockery that was Dhmpires. Unions between monsters and humans were always horrible, but half-vampires... they and the unions that made them were as to take the most noble and powerful of creatures - the vampire - and bleed from them all that made them noble and powerful. It was vile and disgusting.
And yet, here he was, among the company of such a half-breed. It was revolting. The rest of his companions were little better. A Lich was little more then a filthy human who wished to be a noble vampire. The Loa, the best they could do was mass produce a pale mockery of the great and mighty vampires; zombies they called them; pointless he called them. Only his wife was of any good breeding; a pure, great vampire like he.
Still; all the lower creature; even humans; had their value. a half-demon was still strong; they made good enforcers of their will - particularly now that the werewolves had successfully argued for equal-rights - another vile truth of this modern world. The Lich had knowledge and power; even he could not deny that, and if he could successfully turn two English Liches against each other; well one would no longer be a problem; guarantied. He just hoped they would kill each other, and maybe take out some of the uppity-humans with them. As for the Loa; he could offer human blood. It was disturbing to admit he needed such an arrangement; gone were the days where he could simply take what he needed by virtue of his nobility; now he needed to cooperate with lower creatures to get something more luxurious then cow-blood.
All-in-all, the whole trip served as little more then a reminder of how the world had fallen into disgrace. Hell; he'd only been able to feed on a human ONCE the entire trip thanks to that incessant FBI mage he had trailing him. Even now, he could look around and see how disgraceful a world it had become; humans were everywhere of course- blood, blood everywhere but not a drop to drink - but even the supernatural were weak. He could see a werewolf and a dhampire making advances at each other - half-breeds mating with underlings; disgusting. At least four mages were in the crowd (counting his FBI mage) - the most uppity form of the human-cattle. There was a Fae; little more then the remnants of a defeated species that they, the vampires, had subjugated; left alive only by the will of the Vampires. There was a Lamia; only good as servants for proper monsters like he, and a Succubus - he wondered how many men she had lay with this evening.
He was about to write off the whole vacation as a waste, when a sudden flash of red caught his eye. His eyes followed it, and suddenly his vacation had become a much more wonderful occasion; for before him was Dominic Rogue - just the type of punching bag he enjoyed; a human-lover. He smiled as he always did at such people, then moved away from his group, and toward the blood-traitor.
On route; he reached into his pocket and withdrew a small, red pill; tossing it into his mouth without much fanfare. When he arrived, he initiated the conversation with the clearly annoyed punching-bag Vampire Lord. "Lord Rogue! What a surprise to see you here! I had thought you would be far to busy to fly. Tell me, how are your... wife and daughters" he said, letting his tone express what impolite words he would have preferred to use in describing them.
What; Edward Crim is an utter-bastard? Who would have thought a vampire named Edward could be disliked! _>
I'm going to take a break from the murder-mystery setup here for people to react. I'll add more stuff later. BTW; might want to remember my posts as I'm hiding clues (and red herrings) throughout them.
Incidentally; wasn't much to say about Lucia as she's not showing her dragon form - he would think her species a coward for turning tail from humanity. As it stands, he thinks you're a human or a mage (Read: "Snack" or "High-Energy Snack"). Roland's a bird so... he's so irrelevant to Lord Crim he doesn't even register. Just mentioned so no one's left out in their rage at Lord Crim.
"Do watch where your going" She said as she collected her back pack. Her tone was oddly neutral, but she was still annoyed.
"Do forgive me." Pegs replied sheepishly, "I do have a lot on my mind at the moment."
Pegs scrambled back on her feet as the woman replied. She seemed more annoyed than angry, which was a relief. Even if she appeared human, she could have been anything under the sun and you certainly didn't want to anger something far more powerful than you. Speaking of that, a rather uptight fellow strolled through. A Vampire Lord by the sound of things. Well, Pegs's opinion on those weren't particularly positive to say the least.
"So ... How long are we supposed to wait, I could flown there my self by now ...." Lucia said to the Fae.
This little snippet dragged her attention back to the woman, "What matter of creature are you then?" Pegs asked with a mischievous grin.
"What matter of creature are you then?" the Fae asked after apologizing for knocking her over
"Platinum Dragon" Lucia said with a grin "Only reason I'm eve taking this 'jet liner' is cause, they didn't have them last time i was on Earth, which has changed so much I'd swear it was a different world all together"
"Lord Rogue! What a surprise to see you here! I had thought you would be far to busy to fly. Tell me, how are your... wife and daughters"
A conversation had been going constantly, but that caught her attention, Lucia turned to see a pure blooded Vampire Lord. She snickered "The Airport seems to have a parasite problem" she said to no one in-particular. Lucia hated pure blooded vampire, as do pretty much all the dragons of Jade, cause While the dragons leaving was fairly well known, the vampire are the only ones to have tried anything, the slaughter of invading vampire is something even the Iron dragons still laugh about.
"At least it's comfortable" Richard chuckled About to say something when his eyes darted over to a well dressed vampire moving through the terminal "Oh hexes and all manner of hells." Richard's arm opposite Terra subtly went to her shoulder opposite him "What in the nine hells is Crim doing in America? That explains why the Cabals insisted Anester come and reinforce us. If I get up, I highly suggest my so very dear love, you do not follow. As a full blood demon of a relatively noble blood, I doubt he'd have issue with you, but he dislikes Humans. And that includes mages." Richard relaxed back into his seat calmly.
Terra could see his eyes scanning the terminal attentively and feel his mind turning with all it's power to think of plans should he be pulled into any interaction "He's also an arrogant, ignorant, generally intolerable fool."
"So the other vampire Lord shows his face," John thought, shifting through the obvious lies in the greetings.
"Why meet here?" John wondered. Obviously, this was more an issue of safety outweighed any need to conceal the information. Such a public place, neither would be able to try assasinnation without being spotted by the cameras ("Modern secuerity cameras are digital, no mirrors involved! Why do people still think you cannot take a picture of a vampire with your digital camera just because you can't see them with the view finder?") and being taken out by either airport security or the many paranormals in the terminal.
John turned on a recording app on his Iphone. Thankfully the vampires were all but yelling, so he could record their conversation with minimal interference.
Quickly looking around, he noticed he wasn't the only one interested in the Vampire Lord's conversation, seeing the blue haired girl was positively glaring at the Vampire Duo. He turned away when he momentarily caught her eye. John still tried to think about her possible species.
"Blue hair, now what do I know that has blue hair..."
He doubted she just died it that way, why would a simple human be so angry at a vampire (beyond family members effected by feedings, but he was helping put an end to that).
"Another animorph? Possibly... Maybe she is with the bird? Where did that bird go... And where did the big guy go as well?
Maybe a half-druid or some water elemental?
No, they tend to have a greener shade of blue, you almost never see a river spirit with completely spotless hair now.
Could be a transforming creature, like a dragon...
"Platinum Dragon" Lucia said with a grin "Only reason I'm eve taking this 'jet liner' is cause, they didn't have them last time i was on Earth, which has changed so much I'd swear it was a different world all together"
'A Platinum Dragon, huh? Never met of those before...' She thought as she watched the woman return the simile. Now this was the great thing about travel, meeting new people, seeing new places... Well, everything was so new and exciting, even with the bother of waiting for trains, boats and planes to arrive. Not to mention the juggling of money involved. No doubt that pompous Vampire Lord didn't have that problem. She scoffed at that particular thought. Then she heard some slur towards him muttered beneath the human-looking dragon's breath. Well at least she had the advantage of being a dragon. If Pegs had said that, her story would be over, to say the least. She hovered to face the woman.
"Must've been a long time ago then." Pegs responded offhandedly, and then extended a hand, "I'm Pegs, a Fey, pretty obvious, huh?"
"Must've been a long time ago the." Pegs responded offhandedly, and then extended a hand, "I'm Pegs, a Fey, pretty obvious, huh?"
"My name is Lucia, pleasure" She said with a smile "Last time i was on Earth was, around fifty years ago or so. So the last time i was here the air craft was still propeller driven, but its the jump in technology that has me impressed. So many strange, and fascinating devices, I'm particularly fond of the 'iPod', so much music in such a small object" Lucia said showing Pegs the iPod mini she had.
"You must be Zaheer. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
Zaheer was well accustomed to handshakes at this point. The Americans were very fond of them and he had the motions set for when he needed them. He was ready to get on to England until he heard Annester mention another. Zaheer was curious about who he would be traveling with and immediately inquired.
"You said there is another, who?" Zaheer was straight and down to business as usual, he hoped it would not off put his escort.
"Lord Rogue! What a surprise to see you here! I had thought you would be far to busy to fly. Tell me, how are your... wife and daughters?" Edward asked, but his tone towards the end had shifted, possibly hinting that he was going to use some more unpleasant words. Dominic guessed Edward was waiting for a angry response, but given all these other people, let alone his daughter, a fight may not be a good idea. Instead however, he remained calm.
"Ah Edward, I thought someone as vain and as self-righteous as you couldn't stand the sight of being around those you declare as 'less' than you are. As for my family, we are good; my daughter Seras just graduated from college a few weeks ago, and her and a some of her friends have planned a trip around the world. We decided to make at least the first part of it a family affair. I know this question can't be a sign towards a change of heart, after all, you had none to begin with. Anyway, what brought you to this corner of the world?"
John was caught a bit off guard by "Lord Rouge's" statement. Normally Vampire Lords every pour dripped with arrogance and contempt for any other beings besides other vampires. "...couldn't stand the sight of being around those you declare as 'LESS' than you are?"
A tolerant vampire LORD? That sends his daughter to a college? Why wasn't he briefed on this?
He texted to an encrypted message to the PIA asking for any information they had on Lord Rogue.
Also, where is this family he speaks of?
John looked around, trying to see if he could spot Rogue's daughter among the crowd. He then spotted a tall woman in a red overcoat, with the same red hair as Rogue with a blonde hair boy. She obviously wasn't as pale as a full blown vampire.
"A tolerant vampire lord that married a human?" John was quite astonished.
He then noticed the boy Rogue's daughter was with had noticed his staring and John quickly averted his eyes.
Talking to somebody sure took the edge off all of the waiting. But not the tiredness that was creeping up on Pegs, she gave a stretch as the dragon replied. She sighed, she would probably end up sleeping on the plane. Pity. Pegs had a seat at the front and everything, except it wasn't next to the window and sharing armrests with two other people didn't look all that appealing. Elbow wars would ensue, and no-one liked sitting next a sleeping person. Pegs didn't snore, to her knowledge, but she often slumped to the side and one unlucky person would find a small head on their shoulders. Pegs shook herself, she was spacing out. Best not to leave dragon lady over here waiting for a tired Fey to wake up.
"My name is Lucia, pleasure" She said with a smile "Last time i was on Earth was, around fifty years ago or so. So the last time i was here the air craft was still propeller driven, but its the jump in technology that has me impressed. So many strange, and fascinating devices, I'm particularly fond of the 'iPod', so much music in such a small object"
She showed the Fey an iPod mini, in turn Pegs clutched her bag, which contained a small laptop, only to check if it was still there. That was one of the worrying things about traveling alone, you could be mugged, kidnapped and God-knows-what. Some countries were notorious for pickpockets, after all.
After fumbling with the bag, she replied, "Well, Moore's law and all that. Though I admit to taking all of this for granted. Say, which flight are you on?"
It took Roland a moment to puzzle out what the man in red had said.
"Yes, I'm sure I look very dangerous with my beak and claws," Roland said sarcastically. "Listen buddy, I'm just a guy that's down on his luck and looking for a way to get on that flight to London without the flight attendants calling pest control or something."
Roland looked the man up and down. "Say...you wouldn't be willing to help a fellow out, would you?"
Saturday considered the bird's answer before replying. It was unlikely that he was lying. After all, why would he have come to Saturday's call if he was a spy?
"I sahpose I could 'elp. Waddaha got fah me in return?" He said curiously.
"How does "thank you" sound?" Roland offered. "No? Well the best I can offer you is a favour in return," he admitted honestly. "Unless you're willing to settle with a feather or two. But not one of the larger ones. It hurts like hell when you pull them out."
