Reg5879: Thankfully all the other PS3 fanboys have agreed to steer clear of this thread. They're smart, you're not. I aint gonna argue with you cause while i know that the PS3 is SLIGHTLY better, by a PINCH, i would buy a 360 over a ps3 anyday.

Now onto bigger and better things......

I bought a Hive console cooler + docking station. (2 in 1) The docking staion fucked with my video input/output cables (there was no slot for the AV cable that came with my 360, making it useless), it made it so normal AV cables could be used e.g. i could use HDMI without buying the special 360 AV HDMI cable (i could use a standard HDMI cable), but my only HDMI slot in my TV was used up, and the docking station only came with standard definiton cables. Even though my dad works for a company that sells entertainment stuff (stero systems, $1000 audio cables, $80,000 projectors, movie theatre speakers, etc) i just CBF. There were extra USB ports, but my wireless network adapter had nowhere to clip onto. (the docking station took up the entire back of the 360). The Hive coolers had had alot of probs and were regularly returned. And the fans in the back of mine didn't rotate! So it was just an extremely agrovating docking station, and nothing more. I did return it, but my only other option was to buy another cooler, where the part that connected to the console melted into its port. If overheating does cause the red ring then i'd seriously better find a way to keep my 360 cool. It's in a cabinet right now, but i have to leave the door open, or it gets SHIT HOT!

Yeah coz you know all you've gotta worry about is like the lack of games and those stupid wanna be trigger buttons.
Xbox 360 got a headstart on PS3, so Xbox 360 would have more exclusives, but the only one that I would say that looks good is Dead Rising and maybe Gears Of War, Halo is just overrated. Also, PS3 has sold more consoles than Xbox 360 in Europe and Japan.
Wow why doesn't that surprise me. Sony kept fucking around with the magic super awesomely awesome blue ray drive. So its their own fault that the PS3 took so dam long to launch.
Well, Sony wanted to make sure the PS3 wouldn't have problems, so they took their time, but Microsoft rushed the Xbox 360 and that is why u get the RROD and I get a reliable system. (Halo is overrated)
Fair enuff saying that Sony wanted to take their time building an fairly alright console(I'll be buying one once the true GT5 shows its face and crushes Forza 3.) But I don't see how you can draw Halo into this. Ill assume your one of the many many bandwagoners that just hate it coz its the "in" thing. Then again you defending the PS3 like its your kid.

Back on topic. I asked a few of my friends whom have old Pro systems like launch Pro, 20GB HDD Pros lol xD they've all had atleast 1 RROD. Within a week of it happening and sending it away they got their 360s back and they're fine now.

I brought Halo into this coz nearly every Xbox fan says its the best, but it's just like any other FPS, nothing special, Gears Of War and Dead Rising look enjoyable, but Halo is loved more than them, but Halo (I played the first one), is just like any other FPS, apart from Fallout 3, that kicked ass.

Alright well my 360 has died twice, surprisingly the 2nd time happened almost an exact year after the 1st.

The first time I sent it off it got lost somewhere and purolator couldn't find it so they sent me a new one, then sent me another new one the second time.

Also console Fanboys blow my mind, wouldn't you want all the consoles and a super computer available so you could play all newly released games? Instead for some reason these people choose to stick to one console, bastardize anyone who believes otherwise and generally won't give games on other hardware the light of day. I really don't understand this, reg5879 your incredible.

I play the WII coz that brings its own sort of games to the mix and the motion sensor is cool, but Microsoft have just tried to be like Sony. I love PS3, the WII is ok, but I hate Xbox 360.

Right to try and break up the 360vs PS3 fan boy rage, I personally have had the RROD 5 times. That's right five fucking times, and almost every time a cool game was coming out. First was dead rising, second was halo 3( thought it would be cool) third was cod 4, fourth was nothing, and fifth was recently gears of war 2 ( hooray for senseless violence and horrible acting). Oh and I've also had 2 ps3s. The first one stopped reading discs, so not only the 360 has hardware issues. eat that for breakfast MR Reg5879. That's 5 to....2...meh whatever.
Five times? Mine just died for the first time last week (I've already sent it out and expect it back soon) but I thought that after they fix it, it won't have that problem again.

Meh I just play games I have fun with, console i'm playing on doesn't really matter, it's not like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or better yet PC as a whole has ever done anything for me. 360 has some really nice exclusives that any avid gamer should want to play as do the other consoles. Certainly wish I could play some LBP.

I just think Microsoft con people with an unreliable system and u have to pay for online, I do agree Microsoft have some good exclusives, but PS3 have some better ones and PS3 has a brighter future. =)

With my PSP , i accidently stepped on the screen, i sent it to Sony and they seemed to believe my story that i had dropped it, and it passed their warrenty coverage program (they did tests on it to see if it had been accidently broken). I got it back really quickly becuase they sent me anothe PSP they had been refurbished awile back, so i wouldn't have to wait for them to repair my old psp, but i didnt have to pay for the repairs either! You can tell if a psp has been refurbished cause the PSP symbol on the back of the console is tinted blue. I heard that it takes 8 weeks for a 360, but i can only hope Microsoft does something similar.

My psp eventually got stolen, so i bough another one. When that got stolen, i gave up and bought a 360

Well part of the reason people pay for online is because Microsoft handles the servers, which is the reason why games like Virtua Fighter 5 and Virtua Tennis 3 don't have online with the PS3 but do for the 360. Personally the 50$ for a year doesn't really bother me if the online experience is going to be good. 5$ a month is nothing, most people spend more than that on a small restaurant lunch of coffee in the morning, at least now I get something i'll enjoy all year.

Also, you get what you pay for.

That Exclusive Fallout 3 DLC for the 360 and PC? They bought that.

With what money? The XBox Live money. That's what it's used for. Purchasing exclusive content and games.

You get what you pay for.

Ok i just realised something.......

When i first got my 360 the date was set to 2006. I got it 4 Xmas last year at Gametraders. Im assuming/hoping that Micrososft fixed a majority of the 360's problems with the 2007/2008 models and maybe even but probably not the 2006 models. If the date was set to 2006, then that means that my console was made in 2006 rite? You'd expect Microsoft to remove all potential red-ringers from the shops.

So.... should i be worried?

EDIT: I found out the original date was actually 2005 :(

My friend got his 360 bach after 4 days, so that eight week thing might be a worst case scenario. At this point I can only hope for the best.

Well sometimes they just fix your xbox, but its not always assured it won't red ring again. Then they might send you a new one, and in my case, that one red ringed as well. Fear me for I am the master of bad luck.

Mine broke down a little while back and naturally I was heart broken. So I wrap the little white brick up and send it to MS and after a long boring, console-less wait of 6 weeks I get it back, only to have it fail the day after. I sent it to microsoft at least 3 times only to have the same old peice of broken crap sent back to me. It was around then that a mate of mine had learned to fix his online, I gave him 20 quid, he fiddled with it and it's worked ever since.

I wouldn't advise doing this unless you REALLY know what you're doing as it involves opening the 360 case which voids your warranty which means your'e buggered if you break it. I suppose what I'm really saying is that MS treated me like dick. You might have a different experience with them but just so you know.

Well, Virtual Fighter 5 and Virtua Tennis 3 suck, so no big loss and everyone complains about the PS3s price, having online with Xbox 360 means after a while, u pay more for Xbox 360 than PS3.

PS3 sometimes have the slight hitch, but Xbox 360 constantly have problems.
