I don't know where it came from, but why the hell do girls do it?? I mean it looks horrible... :/

This, this is all I see..

In the bathroom, doing that stupid face, with a lens flare and shit.

I mean, are they trying to make the boys all love them or something? I don't understand... :/

If pulled off, the duckface is a beauty. This is an adolescent korean fourteen year old talking :p. Now if you'll excuse me... *goes on facebook.*

Uh... what?

I find your visual aid somewhat lacking.

...

By "duckface" do you mean pouting?

Pouting has long been an expression of confidence and screw-you-ity.

Men do it too, particularly those who are trying to look tough and gangsta.

While the face itself does not make one look pretty, the confidence that the pose is supposed to convey is considered sexy.

But with the rise of social media and the obsession of posing for photos and trying to look cool, a trend has started where people (most usually girls) will go over the top about it, which has baffled and bewildered so many that in turn it means that now even if someone has a bit of a cute pout, they are jumped on and accused of having duck-face.

Seriously, it's made me super paranoid about my face. I pull that face when I'm dancing because it's an expression of confidence, I don't even realise I'm doing it but I get the piss taken out of me for it... which certainly doesn't help my confidence!

You should start a "You know what really grinds my gears?" section here Sean ^^

OT: I hate that face, I have literally no clue why people find it attractive.

It's ok if you greyscale the picture, then it's artisitic! Especially if you title the album with some maudlin lyric about life.

Watch your tongue!

You speak of the late, great, Freddy Mercury.

What?

Yes, m'lord, I will tolerate the unbelievers.

For now.

In order to repent for your sins against Mercury, you will circumnavigate the globe while carrying a bag of drunken ferrets.

So I sayeth, so it shall be done.

I'll heed to your order, but I'll need a few companions to accompany me.

I shall put in my valuable input as an adolescent male from Australia. Pretty much all the 'girls' (I am hesitant to call these creatures any label that indicates that they are a female) down here pull the duck face, not the cutey pout or the confident thing like the Freddy Mercury thing somewhere above me. But literally duck faces, 90% of them do it, and go full 'instagram' on it (Instagram essentially gives it cheap filtering and other effects). I believe they do it because it indicates femininity, sexiness and 'I-Do-What-I-Want-Ness' (Yes I made that up! Don't judge me!). When you experience the horror that is Australian Teenage Girls doing the duck face everywhere and everywhen you can have a true understanding of just how horrible it is.

Freddy has no need for lens flare! Or horses for that matter
