Urgh... the EA conference is lame sauce so far. I want to murder someone.

I won't post the update till the conference is done though, so please wait for me :D
I think the EA press conference was a massive fail, and that they didn't strut their stuff like they could have.

Microsoft....erm. I don't really know. The first half was EPIC, but all the Natal stuff and Molyneux's Buzzkill (I WANTED FABLE 3: MODERN WARFARE) kind of killed it in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, Natal looks great, but it's not top on my radar and I really hope it doesn't eliminate controllers forever.

its kind of working now. did I miss anything.

this avatar sounds kind of lame.
lol the more he talks about it the worse it seems...
i think the big deal is the graphics & the technology they're using.
we'll be 'taking the journey'. . . :scoffs:
Am I meant to know this chap?

less talk more showing me thinks.
Cameron made Terminator, Aliens, Dark Angel and Titanic. Yes you should know.

Sigh.... I have nothing much to write about right now. Ah well, at least this makes it rather easy on me :D

I mean, we didn't need to spend this much time on one IP. While Avatar sounds cool, it's only one thing, and it seems like this will stuff the rest of the conference into a shorter amount of time...

Wait! This sounds like a conclusion! Let's hope for the best...
Doesn't seem like a conclusion...I don't even know what Avatar what is...

Sounds like the new Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Edit:Oh my! Cameron is over and we didn't even see a trailer of Avatar? -.-'

Left 4 Dead 2 hell yeah! i hope they ship this game with more maps. Also it would be cool to have 4 player split screen my friends come to my house some times and it would be a cool game to play while every one is in the same room.

O gods a comedian right after Cammeron, please...

Anyway, 'bout Avatar. I heard about it before, I'm quite interesting. Apperantly it's a 3D, fully animated sci fi movie. A game will be made about it as well.

'Bout the Redsteel 2 trailer:
Not overly excited about it. But I gotta give it: playing essentially a cowboy with a katana is just plain awesome.

'he just likes to hit things, he likes that.'

I'm sorry but I think I'm a little tired of MGS now.. YES it was an INTERESTING series, but honestly, I feel that since Sons of Liberty, the gameplay took a major backseat to the story...
yes, but then again the story has always been a pivotal point to the games.

and yes, there are differences. speaking from experience of very very recently replaying the games, the controls have gotten far more fluid. small things such as the menu screen, the on-site procurement is completely different... to the introduction of a weapons launderer... etc etc.

but they don't change drastically from game to game because you have to keep what makes metal gear, metal gear.

and if you don't want to sneak around, play another game. simple. it's like tenchu, if you don't want to bother sneaking around and hiding bodies, go blast people repeatedly on halo.

off subject:: does anyone else think it's cute how hard this [french? russian?] guy is trying to speak proper english?
NO offense but making the same gameplay controls more 'fluid' means little to me. I could care less how much more responsive the process of Snake getting into his cardboard box is from Sons of LIberty 2 to Snake Eater.
Thats like saying Halo 3 was innovative because the pistol sounded more realistic and the firing animations were more smooth.

Now i'm not saying it was a BAD game, MGS is still a good franchise... I'm just sayin I'd be more interested in seeing Kojima work on some sort of new IP... my concern is that I'm not sure Hideo is capable of DOING anything GOOD outside of the Metal gear universe... he's done it too long and I think it would be like Stephen King trying to write romance novel or a fantasy novel about elves... it's just not his thing and I dont think he'd be as good at it as he is making horror.

I thought the Microsoft Conference was a little weak. Not a big fan of any of the games they showed. The only interesting things were Alan Wake and Rock Band: Beatles. The rest was pretty meh.

The funniest bit was the presentation of the camera. So overhyped and then it underperformed.

"Watch as I move my hands around and it replicates on screen."

And then his avatars arms were flailing around randomly, joints compeltely dislocating, etc.

"Look at the bottom of my shoe!"

And then the camera spins around the other way.

The videos also hyped it up to be some REVOLUTIONARY NEW THING and then it just turned out to be something that already exists... but with voice recognition. The only interesting thing was the elephant they made, but that was more of a "Wow, you can make an elephant out of two people and some random bags. Neat." than anything interesting.

It's a neat proof of concept, but that already existed.

The digital kid bit was such a load of crap.

Wow, really, Redsteel 2 suprised me. It really does look like a lot of fun. I mean, if they really map the sword movement 1 on 1 with the wiimote, it does look like an amazingly fun game to play, actually hacking with your sword and not just flapping around at random. That's exactly what I want.

clearly this can't go anywhere, because it's a clear difference in personal opinion.

and i don't use the cardboard box. the point i'm trying to make is that the story is more in depth than any other game i've ever played, and that's what draws me in. you care what happens to the characters, etcetera. and the gameplay WAS innovative, incredibly innovative for its time. and it gets better with every game. the bosses in MGS4 were pretty sub-par, this i will give you.

the truth is, people will keep buying metal gear games because they fell in love with the first one. and they have improved, graphically, story-wise, and mechanically.

but if you don't like the games, then you won't get that.

quite alright. :]
