So then folks: which conference has pleased you the most out of today's offerings? I was the most interested by EA's, actually. While Microsoft brought in some interesting stuff, the focus on Project Natal has me worried. Unless they throw a LOT of support behind it, it'll die, and hard.

Ubisoft... well there's always next year. At least when Nintendo had nothing at last year's E3, they still managed to hold my interest: here, it was a colossal BORE.
EA pulled the best one. At least in the end. With Brutal Legend.

Damn...I need to buy a console.

Oh i'm sure Ubisoft will trot out some excuse like how E3 is not just about games but was really meant for industry professionals to discuss development processes and blah blah blah and how Ryan Seacrest stole their carefully prepared exciting presentation, so they had to throw together an 11th hour impromptu snore-fest...

Ugh, I feel dejected and let down.

I think I'm going to go read Twilight. Maybe I can find some amusement in a teenage romance about a vampire who falls in love with his food...

So far through out the whole E3 I haven't found anything that is remotely appealing. Project Natal seems to have a bit of potential but so far with motion control with the Wii and things.. Im quite over it. I really hope that this method of control doesnt take over.

As usual all im hearing about is a bunch of sequels.

The MGS game im a bit dissapointed with, would have been nice for 360 people to get a proper MGS game not something (is it even going to be a stealth game) using a backup character. I just cant imagine the game being the same as ninja blade
god only knows what kind of game it's going to be.
and raiden's starred in a MG game before.
so not really -that- much of a backup character.
and he's prettttty.

If Natal works, I can't wait for what they can do with that and an FPS. Would make the knifing in COD much more entertaining.

Although Vampire the Masquerade for the PC was one of the best RPG's of all time in my opinion and I wonder why a sequel or Whitewolf was never made... think Oblivion with vampires and werewolves and supernatural creatures, but with an emphasis on emotionally immersing you in the life of a vampire. There are rules and you don't have to be a blood sucking monster.. you can also struggle with your 'curse'... but stalking hookers down alley ways before pouncing out of the shadows satisfied me in ways that should have alarmed me and made me go to church...

Great Conference by MS. EA and Ubisoft were pretty "meh", but EA definitely was better than Ubisoft. Thus far as expected, I just hope Nintendo and Sony do better than last year.

Yes both Sony and Nintendo did bad last year IMO. Nintendo's was "Wii Music!" and Sony's was "This is the year of PS3, as proof look at how great the PS2 is doing and at these games that won't be out for more than a year."

Too bad I have college to attend precluding me seeing the live show tomorrow.

Closing thoughts:

The Saboteur reminded me a lot of Assassin's Creed, except your mission is to blow shit up.

I got this idea that Halo: Reach is some kind of downloadable defense game with cel shaded graphics, don't know why.

Natal is great technology, I'm anxious to see what developers will do with it. Other than fitness games of course.

Halo 3: ODST = awesome (and is visually reminiscent of FEAR 2)

Eldritch..did you see the same Ubisoft conference as I did?

It was long, boring, bland, crappy hosts, nothing interesting went on and it was a colossal waste of time for everyone.

hey there's nothing wrong with that. :D

my biggest beef with oblivion vampires was that it made me really unattractive. and i had worked damned hard to make an attractive character in oblivion.

it was almost as hard as making one in fallout 3. my own personal little challenge.

Yeah Eldritch... something tells me you saw a recap of the conference or just the highlights because I sat here throughout the entire thing and I have to say it took a monumental amount of self-restraint not do disembowel myself in my chair and seek escape in the sweet embrace of death.

Well vampire the masquerade is a vampire RPG so it was a lot more geared towards that than Oblivion... Oblivion turned you into a 'monster'... Vampire the masquerade was more like an Anne Rice novel come to life... most types of vampires were meant to look beautiful and some of the female models were a little sexier than the law should allow... Seduction and living the life was more important. I remember heading to vampire 'night clubs' and avoiding sun light, sneaking around using my vampire senses to find guards in warehouses, picking locks, and using my insane brute strength and abilities.. you could even turn into a cloud of mist to sneak around places and mind control people.

Now that I think about it, I'm even more shocked and dismayed that there were NO sequels.

perhaps with twilight's success and people's newfound love for vampire kind, they'll make one.

anyone who's been on facebook knows even shitty, well, facebook games about vampires are having success. it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I like that you like where this thread is going.

Also, that angered me. No visuals for something that you talked around 20 minutes about? At first I thought that it was a reference to a Avatar: The Last Airbender game... and looking back, that would have been more exciting, because I would at least have had some visuals to look at while the man was blabbering on...

I swear to god, if Splinter Cell Conviction focuses on combat, and there are no special goggles, I will blow up Ubisoft! They had better not try and change it! I want heat vision goggles dammit!!
