Bullshit to the end. They wanted the spotlight, ruined fun for others, all while trying to have the "greater good" show. They finally pissed off too many people, one of them got caught, other hackers (I use this loosely as they weren't even real hackers) destroyed them, and they played it all off as some sort of plan.
