It scares me. It keeps me up at night. Has he had it under the glove the whole time, or did he lose his hand when designing his new weapons?

It's also pretty badass though. I mean, a freaking robot hand under the glove the whole time!

I don't know for sure but i'm assuming Team Fortress 2, never played the game but it sounds like something it'd be in.

Edit: That or i know the new transformers game has an engineer class for multiplayer, it would be massivly redundant to have a robotic hand under your normal...robotic hand.

Yeah, you should really mention that you're talking about the Engineer update for Team Fortress 2. Might help people understand what you're talking about.

Anyway, I do enjoy his robotic hand. I don't care too much for the Mini-Sentries but I like punching people out.

Would you care to enlighten me (and any others) as to what you are talking about?
He is talking about the new unlockable weapons for the Engineer on TF2, recently released with the new Engineer update. Specifically, The Gunslinger which is a robotic hand to replace his gloved hand, allows one to drop cheaper mini-sentries which cannot be upgraded or repaired instead of normal sentries and has a triple "crit punch" mechanic.

OT: I believe it is a recent addition to the man's body. No reason it COULDN'T have been under there the whole time, but all the new weapons are supposed to be secret inventions his grandfather created, but nobody knew about until now.

I can imagion. But that robot hand was just trick or treating and the man blew his cover.
That, and the man married the glove, not the robot hand, he felt cheated.

OT: Don't want to troll, but if you made a thread for a little madness, I'm there :p

Well, seeing as the post on the TF2 blog mentioned a saw when the Gunslinger was released, I think it's pretty certain that Engie had a real hand underneath the glove. Also, if the hand was there all along, why would Engie get a +25 health bonus just from taking the glove off?

Its not under his glove...he removes his real hand and replaces it

"One day you stumble across a blueprint for an amazing-as-hell robot hand meant to replace an arm-stump. Wait, you have three things: the hand, the grandfather, and a saw."

The official blog hints that he sawed it off.

In fact, here's the blog post:

Why would he get +25 health from sawing his arm off and replacing it with metal?
Actually, I've seen Robocop, fair point.

I can't stand to use the new sentries, they seem terrible. it's fine for the enemy to use them though.
But the only battle engie I know of seems happy with them, so suppose everyone is happy. Yay!

I think they're meant to be used with the Wrangler, which gives them a health buff and increased rate of fire, which kind of cancels out the debuffs.

Huh, guess I missed that. Oh well, answer solved. Creepy, yet awesome.

Now that leaves another question. If you switch to the wrench...does he reattach his hand? I doubt the Medic is that good.

This is precisely what I thought when I read the blog post. Not to mention you can do this repeatedly in a match. It almost counts as Nightmare Fuel...

High Octane Nightmare Fuel I'd say. I doubt Valve didn't realise when making it that people wouldn't think about it a tad too much. They knew. They wanted to scare us.

It's pretty awesome, I have to say. You can set a mini trap in 3 seconds, and if you flank them at the same time you could kill anyone except a heavy reliably. Awesome...

Stop bitching all of you. If you don't know what he's talking about then you don't have anything to say on the matter, yes?
