"Alright, I'm better!" Sam declared, springing out of bed, grabbing his bag and making for the door.
"What, already? But... there were holes in you! And you were missing bits!" Phil protested.
"Yes, but now I'm better," Sam explained again, not catching on. He waded through the crowd of protagonists in his room, opened his door and came face-to-face with a nurse.
Well, I say "face-to-face"; there's the slightest flaw in this testimony, in that she didn't actually have one.
"Hello!" Sam said, somehow managing not to take in this small detail. "Thanks for all the help, but if it's all the same to you, we'll be leaving now!"
The nurse slowly raised a hand and clapped it down on Sam's shoulder.
"Wow, that's lovely, really, but I'm afraid I won't be able to stay; we've got some major questing to get on with..."
The nurse raised her other hand, grasping a large needle, and brought it towards Sam's neck.
"I'm sorry, you and I don't seem to be on the same track here; I'm all better now. Further medication won't be necessary. Thank you, anyway."
The nurse brought her other hand down, fast, and stabbed Sam in the neck, causing a fountain of blood to spray out.
"Ow! Good heavens, miss! Perhaps you should leave procedures like that to slightly more experienced staff... I mean, I don't want to be a nag or anything, but-"
The nurse drew her needle-hand back again and swung it down, this time at Sam's chest. He swiftly dodged to the side, then righted himself and grabbed the nurse's stabbing hand.
"Hold on a minute..." He stared directly at the spot where the nurse's face should be. "...You're not an ordinary nurse, are you...?"
She whipped her head forward, just missing Sam's own, and he reached into his bag and hit her with whatever came out.
The impact from the Hungry Hippos board sent the nurse's head shooting backwards, and her neck made a nasty snappy noise. Dropping the game board and skipping over the nurse's body, Sam indicated for the others to follow him out into the hall.
It wasn't exactly as he remembered it being; the adorable finger-paintings that had lined the walls were replaced with copious amounts of blood, both dried and fresh, and all the windows had been boarded up. Most of the lights seemed to be either dead or flickering atmospherically, and instead of a carpet the floor was covered in crushed little animal skeletons.
"...Alright guys, don't panic," Sam said, staring down one end of the hall, then surveying the next, "But I think there might be something wrong with this hospital." As if to enforce Sam's deduction, a horrible great monster with a knife the size of a skinny blue-haired anime teenager and trigonometry for a face came roaring down the hall, swinging its' knife this way and that and violently raping anything it came across.
"Hey, here's an idea!" Sam said, smiling brightly. "Let's run away!" He and the others did so, pelting off down the hall in the opposite way the Pyramid Head was coming from.
