The Escapist Avatar Adventure: An Open RP (Now Re-Opened!)

The office for the CEO of Calypso Industries. A woman was sorting out some old files when shadow came in.

"The CEO will see you now. Sorry about the guards, they have to be a little more defensive this time of year".

Shadow was then escorted into a wide room, on one side there was a trophy case filled with random objects. Calypso was sitting at his desk writing into a parchment book. As Shadow entered, he stood up and greeted him.


"Hello Shadow, welcome to my office. May I offer you a drink?"

"No I am fine" Shadow replied, he looked around and then looked back at Calypso. "I have a deal i wish to make, you see this serum I hold in my hands?" he said as he pulled out the serum. "I would like you to make somewhere around 59 of them" "in return I will be one of the obstacles the racers have to face" he said. "I'll use this 50 cal sniper" be said as he pulled out his Beret (again name shortened) " what do you say? Do we have a deal?" he questioned.

"My my, quick to the point aren't we? So you wish to participate in this tournament as an opponent to the other contestants? I can arrange that. Although I have to ask, why that specific amount?" Calypso smiled as he walked over and picked up the serum.

 

[Orinon]

Dillon went to Caim and Angelus
"Look I know this competition is serious but how about as long as we're both in the game we team up a bit? I help you you help me? no sense going after each other while there's no targets left right? and surely you wouldn't mind having someone out there helping you."

Caim looked at Angelus, and frowned a little. From Dillon's perspective, the two were glaring at one another and making various strange faces and gestures; one of which was Caim pulling out his sword and flailing it at the dragon. Overall fun entertainment for any who watched, but not entirely conclusive. After the mental discussion (and Angelus convincing Caim that it is a good idea to have allies in a deathmatch) Caim nodded at Dillon's proposition and held out a hand to shake.
"We agree to your terms, but mind this, we would like to have some sport for ourselves..."
Then Angelus detected a familiar scent in the air, and growled, "Do I smell the child?! Dillon? What is going on? DO YOU DARE BRING OUR HATCHLING INTO THIS?!"
Caim looked at Angelus with an incredulous face and then at Dillon, "You what?! Look, I've killed conscripts before, and enjoyed it, but this is ridiculous!"
"You care about the child? I didn't know you had it in you..."
"NO!...Maybe. A little. He's not an enemy, so... It's off. This isn't about me!"
"Right...As I was saying, Dillon... WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! Bringing a newborn into battle? Are you mad? Because I already have to deal with one murderer, I don't want any more in my lot!"
"You're awfully touchy about the kid... 'Our hatchling'? I know we're the god parents but...."
"It's in my nature, fool! Silence."

Might as well bring in a little bit of humor before the arc starts...

Dillon hadn't realized the child had been hiding in the car.
"What the-
"You were supposed to stay on Zamaron, I can't believe you went into the car, I thought I told you to stay put."
Dillon got out of the car.
"I'll be back, and no I hadn't realized my kid was still in the car, I knew she was in it on Zamaron, but I Assumed she had been taken out. apparently someone has to keep a watch on her.
Dillon then teleported away again, when he returned a short while later he didn't have Riolu but his ring had a communicator inside it and here he could bring up a video feed so he could watch his kid.
"I'm sorry about that, I swear I hadn't intended on bringing her into this, I'm raising her to be a pacifist."
Dillon then realized how strange that sounded coming from him
"Well just because i put myself in danger doesn't mean my kid should."

"Well I like to pick odd numbers no one would think of so they could guess it.... that's all..." he replied. He then said "am I to set up somewhere specific or just anywhere? If not I would like a map of the course".

"You needn't worry about that my friend, I have it all planned out." He began walking back to the table, then turning turning slowly. "Will you require any additional equipment?" Calypso placed the serum vial on the table then sat down again.

Just so you know, the race will be the second event. Do you want to intervene in the free-for-all?

"I will need no other equipment..... well maybe some extra ammo and some explosives would come in handy" he replied. "There is a free for all.... is there a way I could watch?" he asked.

I'll just have shadow watch the first competition to gather intel about their vehicles.

"There will be a clock tower in the centre of the town. Beware though, while it was reinforced earlier in its life, I don't expect the drivers to play nice". He grins and then opens the door from his desk.

"The location will be Sunsprings, CA, my recpetionist will show you. I'm guessing you won't need transportation, yes?"

Knife and Doug, after watching the video, head to the junk-yard and start to construct a vehicle so powerful, so..epic, that most men would cease to exist should they gaze upon it.

That's what they think anyway, but neither of them have any skill with building, weilding or any of the other of the useful skills you need to build a car, and the piece of shit they try to cobble together quikly falls apart. Knife then bribes Mr. Furious to build the vehicle for him.

If I had to say anything, its that he's a lot more reserved, not exactly OTT like in twisted metal 2.
In case you want an idea on how to write his dialogue/ what he sounds like, skip to 12 minutes in.

A Phone rang in the main Canteen and was answered by N. Gin.

"N. Gin Residence, How many I direct your call?"
"N. Gin! It's Cortex!"
N. Gin cringed at the sound of his voice
"Ohhhh...Heeeyyyyy Dr. Cortex....errrrr look, we checked for a body to rebuild but didn't find one and we spent the last 6 million on that Time Twister Machine sooo..."
"ENOUGH YOU BUFFOON! Now listen, I have a Demo Derby to go to-"
"And you want the Kart?"
"No, I don't want the Kart, I'm sending Specs over, build this and send it over to my universe, It's on the Call Log."
A Fax came in and N. Gin looked at it.
"I can do that...It'll right over Boss..." He said before hanging up.
Cortex got off the phone and went to return the Stool, walking past a Car Radio.

As Cortex sat down, the radio's static was finally broken as the station came in. It was a nationwide broadcast.

"Let's go to line 15. Caller, whats on you mind tonight uh......Father? Says here you're a preacher of some sort-"

"Time Manipulation, Mind Reading! Oh, he has many powers why, he can even raise the dead. And once spawned, they are forever loyal to Calypso. But this year I'll bring him TO HIS DEMI-"

"Okay just stop, every year we get the same people calling with this bulls-"

"No! You must believe! Calypso's the reason for all of the Violence! He is THE DE-"

*beep-beep-beep*
"Ha, ha ha, sorry about that folks. But is he right about one thing, its getting bad out there, real bad. But I have a solution, stay at home and lock your doors...."

Cortex heard this broadcasting and thought about this "Calypso".
"Mmmm... Raising the Dead..." He said as he left the Stool outside the pub where he got it. and made a Note in his Book: "Zombie Robots".
He then decided the find the rest of the group while he waited for N. Gin to make his Weapon.

Kazuya escaped the Reset, Leaving the Area during the Mecha Bison Battle.
Since then, he has doubled his efforts into Finding Adel before someone convinces him to be his Father.
He heard the Heroes were taking part in Twisted Metal and was torn between helping them or Finding Adel before Leopold did.
