Sea of Chaos
Location: Veim the World Tree
Time: [Empty Set]
Veim looked at Kurumu with monochrome white eyes. The wind began to blow heavily, carrying the warmth of embers and the smell of sulfur.
"Child," Veim said softly and almost apologetically,
"you do not understand. The seal is keeping her alive. I am keeping her alive. What trauma that Kyre Cwanuld has suffered is locked away, repressed by the seal that the humans had put on her. I do not keep Kyre in bondage, I keep the rune from fading."
The wind began to swirl around, carrying a flurry of leaves that surrounded Kurumu, each of the leaves reflected something, another time, world. Together they made up a picture, a small young girl was lying naked in the middle of a massive circle, her arms and legs were nailed down by large gold spikes, and she surrounded by men in yellow robes. She couldn't had been older than seven, and a large red gash ran across the bridge of her nose, deep crimson blood soaked her long red hair.
"Were the seal removed, Kyre's psyche would shatter. It is what holds her together. The human ritual calls for a subject that has already been broken in the mind, irrevocably destroyed so that no resemblance of rational thought might even chance existing."
The men in yellow, six in total, stood around the young girl, each holding out his hands and letting a purple light cover her broken body. Deep lines and runes began to draw themselves on her skin, tracing her bones and nervous system, and covering her head with symbols.
"They would give a subject a new set of memories, a new identity, so they would never rebel for freedom or look for a better life."
The picture turned grim, color turned to darkness as the scene turned black and white. The men began to step back, their hands visibly shaking, and the light that bathed kyre began to distort. A darkness radiated from the small girl, and the men broke off and began to run. The large circle that she lay in cracked and glowed before itself becoming part of the darkness. The golden spikes that had been struck through her hands and feet broke into oblivion. The girl was crying hysterically, and the runes on her skin began to move. They danced on her and faded in and out of visibility.
And suddenly the little girl was enveloped in a dark light, great amounts of color burst forth, fire, lightning, water. Light, darkness, chaos. Red Greens and Blues. It was an explosion of magic that consumed the child and room.
"When I could, I hijacked the ritual and tried to restore her. But it had not been in full, for her own potential as an Anti-Magus impedes the process. In the end I could not repair her completely, and the stress on her body and mind left her mute. I cultivated her anger, and forced her to live. She became the Emerald Silence, the anti-mage of Candor. Her hatred of the magical arts kept her from death. She is kept intact by the seal, but the seal is still very responsive to it's original function."
The little girl stood up, her entire body was covered in blood, that of her own and those of the men that once were in the room. Her right eye was glowing brightly, and she stumbled to walk on a body torn apart by metal and magic.
The leaves blew away, and Kurumu found herself facing Veim again.
"If you wish, I will remove the seal from her. But you will deal with what she will become, for once I leave her, there is nothing I can do." Veim was crying, golden tears ran down from his white eyes but he did not move to wipe them away,
"her freedom is death. The seal is like sap, it binds her together. To remove that is not something to be taken as lightly on the principle of morals. It is a necessary magic. Do you, Kurumu, still wish for her to be free?"
