Can't beat the Classics.
Rugal motioned for his allies to give him space.
"...Time's up! Time to Die!"
He got ready to fire his projectile.

"KAISER! WAVE!" He shouted as a massive wall of pure energy raced to meet the Soldiers mid-reload.
Most managed to avoid it by jumping into the side rooms, but one was not so lucky and was blasted where he stood, a pile of dust where he stood.
Rugal took the chance to advance before the others could re-group.
More shots were fired by one wounded by Melethia's Arrows, followed by his chest being stabbed with his Slashing Aura, meaning even his lost hand was as sharp as a blade.
"Oh come on, you can do better then that..." Rugal sighed as he finished another with a flashy combo of kicks followed by a large chop.

Soon only one in the Firing Squad group remained...

She hesitated, then took his hand. "we need to get out of here!" "It's not safe!"
He looked at the two new people that entered the room. "If you're saying we're those people, you can join the three men in my closet. Now, if you intend to work with us, we'll need to coordinate our efforts to eliminate the boarders."

Tajuh turned to Rose. "Look, I didn't retrieve you from a nuclear explosion to have you die here. Have some confidence in me; I know what I'm doing."

Shadow -- now called Sentinel -- walked back out into the halls and looked around. Everything seemed quiet. He was still wearing his tracker, so he would have to get rid of it soon. He couldn't believe the SOU was attacking them. The organisation he'd served loyally for years now wanted him dead. He had to find out what was going on.

Rose looked at the newcomer warily and wrapped her scarf around her neck. She needed some fresh air. She turned to Tajuh and asked "Can we go outside?" "Why are we even here? There's men trying to kill us!"

"Um... you have three men in your closet?"
Ba'erth chuckled. "We're here to help in any way we can."
Tajuh nodded. "All armed with submachine guns and looking for some renegades. I gave them two chances to leave, but they didn't. Their families should be getting the checks in the mail. Right now, we need to secure the Rising Dawn against any more intrusions. Use guerrilla combat to keep them off guard and keep a eye out for raps st up by our crew." The sounds of a group of soldiers being fried with electricity could be heard in the distance, and the lights flickered for a moment.

He shook his head. "Unless you've had experience with submachine guns, you're only going to be a liability out there. It may sound rude, but it's the truth." Rose could detect a hint of concern in the man's voice as he cleaned up the shells from the ground.

The last remaining member got the bullets in his rifle. He opened fire on Rugal. The bullets grazed his leg, one lodging itself in his forearm. Before the soldier knew what was happening, Rugal had him against the wall. The SOU soldier launched a kick to the big man's stomach, but missed. Rugal smirked...

...only to feel the man's fist in his face. He reeled backwards, blood flowing from his nose. Looking up, the fighter could see the man advancing on him with a knife.
In one quick move Rugal disarmed him, spun and lodged the knife into the soldier's chest.
The soldier fell back, clutching at the knife. He fished through his pockets and produced a small black pill. He threw his head back and swallowed it. Pulling the knife out of himself he staggered backwards and, in only a few short seconds, fell to the ground, motionless.

Tailgate approached Rose and smiled sweetly. She handed her a pistol.

"If anyone tries to hurt you then shoot them. Also, that's a custom desert eagle, so... Expect it to kick. Hard."
Ba'erth approached her and placed a hand on her forehead. golden glow appeared between them. "Don't be scared. But don't go tempting fate, he said and moved back to Tailgate's side.
"Oh, one more thing," tailgate said, turning back. They didn't take any pills, did they?"
"No," Rose said.
"Good," Tailgate replied, beaming, apparently satisfied. "Let's go, Ba."

After watching the Blade expert die in front of him, Rugal wiped his nose, he knew he was shot several times in the back, but the fact that this man managed to bloody him was rather impressive.
"Well...Guess it wasn't a total let down....aside from blowing my cover..." He sighed as he turned around to Melethia and Preacher.
"Okay, I'll explain once I get this bullets out. Hate it when they get scabbed over..." He said, completely clam despite everything that just occurred.
Rugal Bernstein was now a Member of the Rising Dawn.
In other news, Hell froze over.

Rose's face turned to fury. " A Liability?!" "What do you WANT me to do?!" "I'm on an airship being attacked by soldiers!" She broke free of Tajuh's grip and walked to the man in front of the door. "what do you suggest?"
He shook his head and shrugged. "I would rather you not get riddled with bullets, but if you insist, I'll be heading out with you as a rearguard. We don't know their number, so take care." As he left the room, he noticed that the gunfire had mostly died down, and many of the wires from earlier had been taken down.

Ba'erth Ne'kattolathis stopped and signalled for the group to do the same.
"What is it, Ba?
"A great evil is near."

Sentinel met up with the other SOU member. Alpha 7.
"It's good to see you again, Tailgate. Say, where's Chris?"
Tailgate's heart skipped a beat. Chris.
She just looked at Sentinel. "I..."
Sentinel's grin disappeared.
"Did... did he come back?
Tailgate just shook her head. Sentinel felt like he was going to throw up.
He had nothing left.

The Preacher noticed Rugal stumbling slightly due to the contagions of his injuries. He gestured Rugal to sit down.
"Well son, you appeared to be wounded. I'll see to it", he lifted his arm, a white aura flashed from his arm, flowing up to form a glyph. Soon after Rugal's wounds began to heal, the bullets dissipating.

"I want you to remember one thing. I will never deny treatment to a person who requires it." He stood up, offering Rugal a hand, "But should you attempt to harm any innocents on this vessel on my watch..." He finished his point by putting his blade back, reminding the man of his abilities.

"I'm Tailgate, she said sweetly. "I'm SO- well, I guess EX SOU now. This is Ba, and Shadow."
Ba'erth stepped forward. "Ba'erth, at your service.
"Actually, call me Sentinel. Long story."
He sighed. He hoped Chris OK, but he doubted it.

Tailgate looked at Rugal and gasped.
"What happened to you? You're all bloody!"
She was genuinely concerned for the man. Then it dawned on her that it was probably her fault. "How did you beat them?"

Wow, shit is really getting real...
Caim and Angelus

Angelus returned the roar she heard from Charlie, and ripped into another Angel fighter with her claws. Caim, making use of the distraction; jumped down with the Angel Killer, and pierced the pilot inside with the blade. After another great leap, Caim landed back on the dragon; blood still dripping from his sword. Cadolbolg let out a piecring croak; and roasted an Angel that attempted to swipe at his father's head, and the swordsman followed up with a slash of his own, decapitating the bold Angel. When they saw the Angels begin to run; Caim pumped his blade in the air; "Look at them flee! Run, o 'mighty' creatures of Gods! Run or be skewered on my blade! I've killed your ilk before and I can do it again! Ha ha ha ha haa!!!"

The dragon glowed in Caim's calls of triumph; having felt the thrill of the Angels' destruction herself, and felt proud for her battle-strong son. Even if he had not been born of her flesh; she was proud to call the little one a dragon's child.
"Ha! Do not get too cocky, Prince; for retreats can be strategic as well.. Now where are they going?"

That was when Jake's call ran throughout the battlefield;
"ALL UNITS ALL UNITS! Fall back! The Angels had us outnumbered and outgunned and they are retreating! They have to have an ace up their sleeve! All units, return to base and get out of the city!"

"See, what did I tell you Caim? Let us fall back and,- Oh Gods... Let's go."

The explosion had hit before Angelus could have properly finished her statement, and she quickly winged over and back to the Rising Dawn. Even with their strength; it seemed that it was too late for the reinforcements to arrive...

Teri and Ton Ton

Teri's eyes widened when she saw the explosion from the window, and joined Slindis in a silent prayer to her own God; and silently hoped that all who were killed were snuffed out quickly, feeling no pain in their demise. It also reminded her of a tabletop game she had played a year ago; when she acted as a paladin. Her's had fallen hard for circumstances beyond her control, in great contrast to the Paladin before her. Slindis was able to work her way out of the situation that befell her, but Teri's paladin stayed stuck in agony. Teri couldn't help but give a small regretful smile; and thank her lord that she had found protection with a better paladin than her own.

Ton Ton watched all the proceedings with light interest and confusion, having never had a god of his own; unless one were to count the Mistress. So, in an act of mimicry, he reflecting upon the young girl he was charged to protect in his home realm, and silently hoped that his comrades would be able to stave off the Daemons till his return.
