As the heroes fell through the floor, Ragnorak's wings spread, catching the air beneath him. His fall slowed to a stop just as Hisoka floated down like a leaf, his hands behind his head. "Geheheheh..." The jester pulled a playing card from his inner breast pocket. "I believe that I shall return the favor you did me, del Goref. When I learned that you were still alive...I felt such a thrill."
Ragnorak's wings flapped langouriously as he stared at the man he had thought dead. "I'm finished talking. Die now." And in he swept.
He stabbed first with Vorpious, just barely missing the clown as he danced aside. As Ragnorak passed through the man's perimeter, he slashed out with the edge of the playing card, trying to cut the angel's face. With a clash of metal on metal, the card crashed against Dragonsbane, creating sparks. "Geheheheheh...You've improved."
"I should hope so. We last danced two-thousand years anon and I was but a stripling then." Ragnorak shoved hard, sending the combatants catapulting away fromeach other in midair. Pointing his spear at the clown, he smiled evilly. "I grew to manhood and beyond in My Lord's service and my own since. I am not a force to be trifled with."
"Well then, I should get serious! Geheheheh..." The jester threw the entire pack of cards up in the air, confusing the immediate area. Ragnorak swept Vorpious across the air, invoking it's element of Void to create a Vaccuum behind them, sending the cards dancing back at where the jester had been.
"Too slow," came the voice from behind. Hisoka's long fingers swept around the angel's face, leaving a trail of blood on the divine's cheek. "Now we match! Geeeeeeheeeeeeheeheeheee!" The mad cackle faded as Hisoka danced back and away from Ragnorak's falchion.
"Is this nothing but a game for you??" roared the Fallen One, snapping Vorpious towards the dancing joker, power flooding the red crystalline tip. "This eye of mine is burning, crying for vengeance! Turn to ashes in the red heat of the sentence cast by God himself!" [HEADING=1]Burning Judgment!!![/HEADING]
"Then let you cry! I will give you no satisfaction! That village was mine to do with as I please!" said the suddenly serious fool, dodging the wave of burning energy that swept from Vorpious blade. "I will not burn for something I had every right to do!"
"WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TURN MY WIFE OVER TO THE MODDEY DHOO!!!!!!!!!!!" Another wave of red-hot energy swept from the blade, powered by Ragnorak's hatred and pain.
"I DID NO SUCH THING!!!!!!" Hisoka seemed angry, dodging the wave of hatred again. "She was an accident! If you had not swept at me in a rage, she may have lived! I WAS FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE! I do not kill women and children!"
"LIAR!!!" Tears flowed from Ragnorak's eyes, coursing tracks down his cheeks as he sent wave after wave of hatred at the capering clown.
"I speak nothing but the truth to you!"
"You LIE! I cannot accept that a monster such as yourself would EVER give quarter!"
BUT HE DOES.
"What? Who interrupts my vengeance!" Spinning, Ragnorak suddenly had a full view of a beautious man. Robed in white, he descended gently, white feathered wings streaked with red in full extension as he rode the thermals down to the pair.
I, THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL. YOUR SUPERIOR. REMEMBER? THIS MAN HAS NEVER KILLED A WOMAN OR CHILD IN HIS LIFE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT OTHER CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY AND NATURE HE MAY HAVE COMMITTED. LEAVE HIM BE. HE WILL MEET HIS JUSTICE SOON. I HAVE IT ON...GOOD AUTHORITY.
Ragnorak sputtered and blinked, incredulous. "M'lord!" Michael smiled beatifically.
RAG, YOU'VE BEEN TOO LONG AMONG THE LIVING. YOU ARE A FINE AGENT. BUT YOU NEED TO LEARN TO SEPERATE YOUR EMOTIONS FROM YOUR JOB. GET BACK TO YOUR FRIENDS. YOU ARE NEEDED.
"A..as you wish, m'lord." Ragnorak hesitated, every instinct telling him that the evil was behind him, he needed to kill it now while his powers were strong. Vorpious fought to remain in it's true form. Finally, he managed to force it back into it's bracelet form, spreading his wings and flying up out of Tartarus, towards the rest of the group, troubled.
RAGNORAK, I AM SORRY I HAD TO DENY YOU YOUR VENGEANCE. YOU ARE NEEDED THERE. Michael turned to the clown, who's trademark grin was back.
"Well, are you going to kil me?"
...NOT NOW. BUT ONE DAY, THAT FALLEN WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO KILL YOU. I WILL NOT INTERFERE ON THAT DAY. Michael's expression turned to anger as he floated up out of sight, back to Heaven.
