Severin was moved by Tomoya's words.
"Lord of Sweden?" Sev dodged a blow from Dillon and pulled out the player, "Is this... me? A future me?" Severin was starting to break down, barely understanding all this. Zero roared.
"NOOOO!!!" Zero's wounds from Caim's attacks were meager scratches compared to how much shit was going to hit the fan is Sev ever cracked the player's full recording. The Wanderer swept his arm forth, and a squadron of Viking Elites piled on Caim, while scores of others began firing Gunpowder Arrows at the Dragon. Sev put his head in his hand and contemplated everything.
"...maybe this isn't right," Sev whispered. Zero screamed.
"YOU COWARD!" The Wanderer bellowed, tearing Dillon's hands from his body and gripping Excalibur in hand. Sev turned to his Advisor.
"ZERO! We need to think this through! We could both get what we want if we just take it slow!" Sev yelled. Zero growled.
"You were A PAWN Severin!" Zero's words cut through Sev, crippling his mind. Sev couldn't understand, he'd known Zero for nearly all his li-
And at that moment, Zero cut off Severin's right arm and leg. Blood splattered everywhere, bone fragments exploded, and the cries of the Viking's noble commander rang out through the ether.
Zero swung Excalibur through the air, unleashing blasts of energy, crippling the Heroes.
"THIS IS MY WORLD NOW," Zero bellowed, teeth growing, "AND NOW, THE FIRES OF MY HATE WILL BURN THE EARTH TO ASH" Zero ordered the Vikings forward. The scores of them, save a notable, nameable pair, advanced towards the Heroes menacingly.
Caim, Tomoya, and Amaya were trapped, surrounded by Wyverns, Griffins, and the still-large Swedish force.
Or so they thought.
The sky burned red, and a massive spaceship descended from space into Albion's terra firma. Severin, doubled over in pain, never saw what happened, he had already been dragged off by Wrex, Youmu, and Garrus, who had made friendship bracelets at this point.
The massive ship bore a name on its side, massive in scale, one word donned the steel-colored construct;
The Maelstrom.
Tomoya, Dillon, and Caim let out cries of joy, the Vikings and Zero had no idea what this meant.
A hatch popped open on the ship, and a flash of red bolted out, made contact with Zero, and sent him flying through twelve more boulders (lot of those around today, aren't there?). Zero's face was falling off, his internal organs were a fine soup, and his bones barely worked. He struggled to open an eye to view his attacker, valiantly standing over the traitorous Wanderer.
"Who... who are you, Man or Devil?" Zero choked out.
"Neither," the figure growled.
The figure's silhouette cleared, and a metal hand hauled Zero 7 feet into the air. In the light, Zero eyed the shininess of the man's face, then realized, in horror, who had grabbed him. Standing at 7 feet tall, with two false limbs and half a metal face, the Emperor of Sweden had returned.
"I am Severin Sanguine, Captain of
The Maelstrom, Ex-Commander of the Odakabe Army," at this point he looked around in disgust at the Vikings about him, "I am the Destroyer of Worlds, the Defender of Earth," his one revealed eye narrowed and his eyepatch glowed gold, "and the Slayer of Zero, The Wanderer of Mastery." Zero gulped loudly in fear. Severin growled and threw his foe far away, into a Galley the Vikings landed in. He turned towards the army.
"LEAVE THIS PLACE AND NEVER RETURN!" Severin bellowed with the voice of 12 men. Every Vikings, save Wrex and Garrus, fled quickly. Drek popped out of the ship, smoking a blunt.
"Time Travel..." Seven said aloud, walking over to the unconscious young commander, "He's from a different time, sent to claim an artifact, corrupted by Zero to use the artifact for himself, which would have been taken from him and used for Zero," Severin finished and healed Young-Sev's wound. Dillon stepped forth, picking up Excalibur.
"Why didn't you kill him?" Dillon questioned the returned Emperor. Severin turned his head.
"I already did, that Zero is this Severin's fight," Sev waved his hand and Young-Sev disappeared.
"He'll have centuries to heal and train, before he goes on a journey to a certain East-Asian archipelago... where he will
attempt to warn a certain band of Heroes about a certain returning Wanderer," Severin glared at the band, but only for a moment. He then turned towards the woods.
"I get the feeling this arch isn't over yet though," Sev declared, eyeing a patch of bushes probably used for someone hiding.
Probably.
