Wow, very nice camera work, looks like you used professional camera.
And the acting was good, though the dialogue I found was lacking. Got me a smile at times, but otherwise meh.

Oh man, I'm overwhelmed by the support thus far! Thanks so much everyone for the kind words about the show! I didn't even know the voting had begun.
To all the people with doubts about the future of the show rest assured we've got a plan. It won't simply be two people running for 10 episodes or so - we plan to play a lot on both worlds in game and out.
Should be a wonderfully 80's style suburban fantasy adventure (genre?) and I hope we get to continue creating the show!

Oh, and to answer the technical questions:
(1) We shot it on the Panasonic HPX 170 with the brevis adapter
(2) I (Brett) also edited the project, and was indeed not paid. All the green screen effects were done in After Effects.

I'M SHOCKED! God damn it finally I have a reason to vote!
i hope like most of the voters on here, i'm taking my voting seriously. i want to see something good win and be produced. i want to see something that has potential. that is why i'm trying to be very open minded but very critical at the same time.
i still say that my biggest fear with this is content...you have obviously played to your strengths: humor, acting, polish with the good camera. take all of those away and i have two guys sitting on a couch playing a video game...the entire time. i have what i see in 90% of the entries. i am being critical (and that is something i'm very good at) i just have a hard time voting for something i just don't see where it would go. i would be so much more willing to vote if you had taken another minute and a half that you could have used and gone outside the house, shown me more, given me more to look forward to.
with what you had going for you if you had just given me MORE, i would love to vote, but i just am not totally sure that i can.

Thanks for all the kind words and reviews, this is the DP here. In terms of story I'm not sure where the show creator is going, but if you use your imagination the possibilities are really endless. This was just a teaser. I mean...you're talking about a guy who created a webshow about the engine room crew of a spaceship ("The Crew" on Babelgum)...and it involved ghost ships, aliens, pirates, treasure hunts, black holes, bounty hunters...etc...etc...
Well, this was the best we could do on our own for free. If we win and The Escapist gives us money - you will indeed see MORE out of the show. We have big plans and episode one is the only episode that'll center around two guys on a couch playing video games.lookingforloper said:
