Whilst this was done very well, i.e camera, and acting etc, I don't it was an overly good video. The humour was...mild to say the least, doing little more than raising my upper lip for a mere moment before lowering it once more. I find it would get boring v. v. v. quickly, as well as it being a rip on Doomsday Arcade, with a VERY slight twist. Personally, whilst it is nothing BAD it is nothing special, and I do not see why it is front runner currently.

I noticed a lot of comments from people saying they can't see it going anywhere or that they needed more. Well, you probably don't know where it's going because you're not the writer. Not knowing where a series is going is a good thing. Ever hear of a small series called "Lost"? Or "24"? Keep them guessing, I say.

And as for needing more, do you get that there's a five minute requirement? Not to mention, it's also what is called a "pilot" episode. The pilot normally sets up the series. So, all that was required was to set up a series.

These guys are obviously talented and know how to make legitimate content. Think about that when you're voting and commenting. I'm sure that a lot of the people bashing this are creators of competing content and they can't handle the fact that they're not as good.

Simply, the show is well-written, well-acted and well-shot.

As for the creators of this series, you have my vote. Keep up the good work. And I hope you win.

Wow, thank you all for the support! I'm the gal in this, and having chatted with Craig & Brett on where we could take this show (def not where some of you have predicted), I can promise some really fun twists and turns. Oh, and some sweet sweet eye candy in the form of two of our uber cute & talented blondie friends. Just sayin'... Again, thank you!

I personally don't think using Lost as a comparison is a great choice haha.

And after watching it a few times i've started to think about it..probably a lil harder than I should, but were these guys the "chosen ones" to find the stone that freed her and opened the ability to cross dimensions? Or was the stone there the whole time and some one JUST now found it? I find that last part a lil hard to believe seein as how this is obviously a game that has been out a decent amount of time and has a whole walk through. And many gamers like my self tend to be too observant and look around entire areas before advancing just to see if there were any easter eggs put into the game. So the chances of some one finding it before them I think are pretty high. Atleast in my opinion.

And if thats not the case w/ them just being lucky finding it and they are the "chosen ones" thats kinda weak unoriginal writing =\

Not meaning to sound too mean or critical, just pointing out my own personal opinion, which is usually crap =P

Still I liked the over all production and stuff and find the damsel in distress to be a great distraction!

Good luck to you guys!

Well, this was the best we could do on our own for free. If we win and The Escapist gives us money -
That camera is like 5gs isn't it? :p

Pro work by the way, this snagged my vote.

I'm enjoying what I've seen so far, and I'm hoping for some totally cute nerd girls getting mixed up in this plot too. >:)

Yes these guys need the money for a new camera. They totally need to upgrade the quality of their video.

Great visual, quality sound and effects and some good acting. Great stuff.
But even at 3 minutes there wasn't much in this and you needed to pack more substance in than a basic premise that only filled 1 minute of entertainment.

In terms of acting and picture quality, this is the best video for this years festival. I gave it my vote today.

Okay, so I'm trying to look for some clarification with this question: I thought in the rules for submitting a video to attempt to win this contest you could not have anything else (other series in real life, online, profiting, ect.) being done. The reason I pose this question here is because I noticed that you guys have a whole other series The Crew on your website.

Maybe I misread the guidelines, which I can't seem to find again, or find anyone that will answer my question. I'm honestly not trying to dog anyone, just would like to know if I read that restriction correctly or not.

Just the submission itself needs to be new. For example, Unskippable was one of our winners last year and the Loading Ready Run crew has been making videos for quite some time.

One of the first additions in this competition that showcases competent cinematography and effects.

Deleted my own post. I was to harsh on ..everybody. So I deleted my comment stating that all the entries are more or less garbage.

At least this entry is ok...ish.

Meh.

PS: I suck at acting but this doesn`t stop me in any way of judging others.

Okay, thank you for clearing that up! I had tried asking around but couldn't get a good answer, thanks for that!

Wait, wait, wait...did you just compare this to Lost and 24? Hmmm. Okay, I think there is a reason that those two shows are successful and broadcast on major television and this one...well...

And you're right, keeping them guessing is a great thing, but clueless all together? Not so much. Lost and 24 both knocked you off your feet with GREAT pilot episodes, why? Because there was a little thing called CONTENT. My main complaint all along is that this video (that I will note used just over 3 minutes of the allotted 5 minutes) never moved outside of their living room. Even some of the videos in last place gave me much more than this and unfortunately for them will have no chance to get their stories told.

So please, let's keep your lack of thought comebacks against those of us who aren't bowing at the creators feet because of their HD camera to a minimum. Or at least give me something that doesn't make me laugh more than their video did.

EDIT: I'm sorry, was this too harsh? I just take offense when someone tells me that I don't have the right to form my own opinion (taking things that I have actually written on here) and that I should cherish this wonderful piece of work. These are the kind of things that make me speak my mind even more.

Alright, this one gets my vote, if only for the fact that that girl was INSANELY hot. Like...DAMN! Aside from that, I really liked the quality, it was quite funny, and that girl was fucking hot. Yep, this was awesome.
