I believe I have some new information for you.

You can only get the badges for being friended by people, if they all have as a friend at the same time.

Example:
If a person gets friended by 49 people, then one of those people removes that person as friend, and later someone else friends that person, then that person won't get a pillar of the community badge.

(Side note: Can someone please friend me so I can get my pillar of the community badge? It appears Richard Groovy Pants removed me.)
