The Spore badges were for winning the Spore Creature Creator [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/events/5015-Contest-Spore-Creature-Creator-Winners] competition.



This one was awarded to Fable 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/samsprinkle] competition, plus a 360 Elite, HDTV and copy of Fable 2.



I'd like to clear up that this badge was earned from more than just the "Easiest Quiz Ever" competition. There were a whole bunch of competitions in the leading up to the release of The Wrath of the Lich King. I got mine from the "Gaudy Armour Contest". I think there was a poetry contest and a few other contests as well for this badge. Winners also got World of Warcraft figurines sent to them.



I could have sworn that Escapist CEO Archon [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Archon] had this at some point or another. It's seems to have gone missing though, for now...



And I think these are all old, scrapped designs of contributor badges.

The E was for an EVE-related contest. Most of the others (like the bat) are art we decided not to go with or tests. Our code doesn't delete the art when a badge is deleted, so don't assume that there's a badge just because the art was in there. It's also pretty typical for us to make a badge in the system and just throw some random art in there when we need to prep code but don't have the final art (like that sword one).

Apparently it wasn't a design of anything.
