Escapist was DDOS'd by LulzSec for most of a day and was inaccessible because of it. You shouldn't need much more explanation than that.

Oh, is THAT what happened? And here I'd thought Movie Bob had gone and attracted a bunch of Green Lantern fans to the site (it went down just a few minutes after his Big Picture video went up.) Meh.

As for Penny Arcade... my friend loves 'em, but I find I don't typically like the art so I haven't read enough of it to form an opinion. Gotta give 'em credit for forming Child's Play though.

I found it clever, but not funny really. Eh, I seem to have that view on all of their comics though. Clever, but I'm not entertained.

No, they're talking about how people should stand up against it, then ignore us being hacked, or beaten up in the comic.

Um... on LulzSec's Twitter feed, they mentioned how the Escapist community was complaining about the attacks and later that day, we were attacked. So they're implying that if they said anything bad about the hackers, they'd come after them as well.

Do you guys read the posts already in the thread before you post? There are a dozen nigh identical explanations of the comic.

Anyway, it's never a bad thing to be mentioned in a PA comic. In spite of the circumstances in which The Escapist was featured, Penny Arcade has a huge potential to drive new people to the site, and hopefully they'll stick around for the insightful commentary from the people who run this site.

It's kinda funny I guess, but the Escapist DDoS-ing never really affected me. Not because I wasn't trying to use it during the time, but that it happens so frequently for me for some reason. Every other site is fine, but escapist sometimes dies.
