Oh I seem to have forgotten to mention the actual titles of the songs that I posted... the first song is called "Happy Day" and the second one is called "The Stand." I kind of like have the actual titles over "Church Song 1/2" as they are now. Sorry about that.

Also an update for Neonbob about me learning that In Flames song... I have like 80% of it completely down and ready for recording, it's just that In Flames tunes so insanely low that when I play it on my sissy light strings it sounds pretty sloppy with distortion and playing In Flames without distortion is like an insult. It just sounds like a big distorted mess right now. So... unfortunately until I get thicker strings or something the project is on hold. I'll probably upload a new video before then but it won't be In Flames.
You should get some 18s. That's good stuff.
Jazz strings rock.

Hahaha! Sorry about that! I didn't know what they were called so I used my best judgement! They're all fixed now though.

Happy Beethoven's Birthday everybody!

This piece is my first ever on violin, so I'm quite happy with how its turned out. It was originally written for an orchestra hence why just one violin alone doesn't do it justice, but it's still a wonderful piece.

Elgar: Nimrod from Enigma Variations.

Well, I didn't have a video last week because I was tired and I had an essay to do....which I didn't do anyway. But I was still tired. Anyways, hope you guys like this!
Judas Priest rules!!!

I'm still learning bass to really get a song down, working on Mayhem "Chainsaw Gutsfuck" and "Deathcrush" because those bass solos though simple are pretty awesome.

Wow.
How long have you had this?
I think you said a week or two...can't quite remember.

It looked to me like you had some solid finger placement.
I can't wait to see what you can do in the future!

I got my violin on the 20th of November (I looked back at the post where I linked a picture of it). So for less than a month of playing I'm happy with my progress, despite the occasional screech.

Edit:... and no lessons.

Yup. I work in a liqour store and we were meant to give them away with slabs of Carlsberg, but I wanted one so I just took it. Good shirt too!

I re-did my solo performance at school as Stargate SG-1 instead of Mario (got 5 extra marks)!!!
I managed to get the audio file before it was sent away and make a copy to upload to youtube, just for you guys. I will make it into a video in movie maker with some stargate pictures, then upload and get back here with the video.

Woop! Here it is:

Hope you like the improvements.

Update on other pieces: I will not be uploading Super Mario Brothers at all 'cause I can't be
bothered with it anymore, and Still Alive is 90% complete. Woo.

EDIT:

800 posts yay!

Haha! Using the string function on the keyboard? It sounds pretty good when you do that to it! Pity about Mario though, I would have liked to have seen that.

It's more that I can't play it properly anymore than I can't be bothered. I can't be bothered to try and re-learn it is what I guess I really mean. I love still alive though. Hopefully by the time I have finished that I will have a decent microphone, so can sing along. Don't worry, I have been told I am a good singer by my music teacher and many many other people.

It'll still sound better than my old screechy violin!

So... ummm I'm terrible at "writing" songs, but I do loves me to play 'em music. I realized, only recently (for I thought my knowledge of theory was *flawless* that this piece isn't technically in G-minor but shifts between Bb Major and its relative minor because the chords don't give it a definitive minor, but the sounds do lead one to feel that it's minor at times while Major at others).

This is, by definition, a jam session... but just with myself. I played a chord progression and then recorded myself playing individual notes over the chords and it turned out pretty well, but it does go off beat every so often and a few other things which annoy me, but despite all the "errors," I very much like this piece o' music. Enjoyment wished!
That is such a nice sound.

Ive now got a Ukulele, Several Guitars & im looking at Bass, And tuning my Grand piano, I can also sing (kind of) - So I certainly want to be an Active member on here.

I have no idea what you'd use to record, but I'm sure some of the other guys do.

I wish I had a grand piano. It's unfair.
